Welcome Back Andreas
I logged on this morning and in the little window at the bottom where it tells you who is currently in the forum. I saw the name that I never thought I'd see again....Andreas!
Just joking, I did see the name, but I knew you had not abandoned us! Great job on OOTP. Great to see you even get a chance to look this way, even if you can't dive in yet!

Guys? Do we know for a fact that Andreas will resume his work on our TBCB? or are hoping?
Any beta testers or insiders have the scoop?

I just stepped over to the OOTP forum for a quick glance at the the new Baseball release.
They are already on page number three on the tech support/problems forum for the game....and it was just released today!!!! Oh, no we are never going to see Andreas! So much for the performance points problems!!!!!!

I mean, not even a hello or check in from anybody, ever.... I don't get it. I wish this game made more money. It's the best of it's kind on the market, and still not a priority.

I agree while the game could use a few adjustments (I don't get the pp request though) his time would be best spent moving onto the RP or TBCB3 whichever it is going to be called.

I agree that we need to move forward with TBCB 3/R.P., BUT...
I think time spent on the P.P. would be a wise thing. According to Andreas in an older thread, they are what dictate the rankings: "Correct, the history, the record and the stats of a fighter have nothing to do with his rank after the conversion. Only his performance points will be used to calculate his new ranking." -From a post concerning how the rankings work. To me, and I know it's just me, if the rankings are still screwy, and with P.P. not calculating without having to do backflips to save them, and some players starting off with higher P.P., some problems of P.P. rolling back (see tech forum), they are still screwy. I just think that I, notice "I", would rather have more accurate rankings than having a game where I can go shopping to buy "magical gloves" or something like that to "enhance my fighter", which seems to be what OOTP calls a role play game (see ISP). Of course, I am over exagerating about the way the Role Play will work (that is how OOTP'S Inside The Park worked, though). To me, again just me, if the P.P. are so important to the the new ranking system, which by the way is still better than the old system, then the P.P. need to work in order for our rankings to have any real meaning to us. But then again, it is just a game. So, no major fallout either way. I have gotten my monies worth 100 fold if they never go any further than what we have right now. Just my opinion. Of course who cares, I am just a Tomato Can

I agree with Tomato Can - the main issue that needs to be re-visited is PP. What he mentioned as well as setting a minimum number of PP that are awarded for a win so we stop the negative PP situation when a fighter beats a stiff.
I also love the game and have more than received full value from it. I may be an old crank, but I have little interest in a role playing game. I have perused ITP quite a bit and think the idea of it is likely far more than the reality would ever be. My suggestion would be to put whatever man-power and money (if any) into a third version of this great game to make it more marketable to the masses. Christopher

I have little interest in the RPG also but it would definitely bring new sales ... I guess I got stupid for a second and forgot about the resetting pp ... I'm gonna make a list in the beta thread today.
Here are things I'm adding right now. 1) pp saves 2) pp - min. amount for a win (I say 20) 3) mass group change for group 2 4) putting # of fights to be ranked as an option on each title instead of overall 5) being able to change group 2 back to blank |
