OS question.

Hi...

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I deal with two different OS each day.

At home, I use a PC.

At work, I use a Mac.

Now, I'm not saying I'd ever do something like play OOTP at work, but if I did, could I use the same license to operate one game on my PC at home, and on my Mac at work?

The electronic licensing software being used by SI for the mac is different from the e-licence software used for the PC (because e-licence don't do macs, apparently), so you'd need to buy seperate licences for each I'm afraid.

This thread should contain all the answers.

Yeah, but it seems to have been unavoidable. This time around, anyway

The user could buy the Win version and copy the elicense#. Then, logging in under his board name request a cert for a Mac lisence. When he logs in again on the same account on the Mac and send an email to marketing with that # he could be given a confirmation #to get the Mac e license. That way both IP#s would be on record with SI before the license was issued.

Would this work?

He should change employers so that he has a PC both places.

There is the rub isn't it. The situation is what sucks, not what SI is doing. Believe me, when it comes to developers and publishers, SI has to be the only one that I have never had a problem with.

The smart thing would be to never use a damned Mac in the first place.

One of the units I used to supervise used Macs (now they use PC's). You couldn't give me a Mac.

Apple's share of the worldwide PC market, 1996: 4.6 percent

Apple's share of the worldwide PC market, 2005: 2.2 percent

Can you say "doomed and on its way out"? Of course you can.

I can use stats to to back that up.

Remember, 47.9% of America voted for Bush in 2000.
And, 50.7% of America voted for Bush in 2004.

To be honest, the other guy in those elections were no standouts either.

Bush - Who can't speak
Gore - Who claimed to have invented speech itself
Kerry - Who said so many contradictory things I lost track
