I hope I am amongst the "chosen ones"... especially if the Mac version may not be out on time. Of course, late is better than never, so no complaints.

Would it help if I showed up at Sega HQ and begged?

I would like to go into more detail on the mac thing, I cant ..we're stuck negotiating 11 points of a contract and I'd rather set the expectation level as being late...Im still hopeful of it making it...

Great screens. Don't mean to open up a hornets nest here, but am I detecting some conditional language in your statements regarding release? Are you opening the door for a possible late release?

In the Award Winner's screen, next to the player name is stats, which is awesome! However, what does VORP mean?

I'm an absolute Baseball NUT, who's moderately into statistics, and i've NEVER heard of that stat before. Geeze I hope having that stat in there is customizable.

As a economics-minded person, I like it. It measures the marginal utility of a player, which is all that really matters.

how can you be a baseball nut and not have heard of VORP? if you are a 'nut' then you should want to learn what it is. if you do, you will see its value in the game.

I'm still a bit up in the air about that addition. I'd kind of like to know how it works on the inside (i.e how significant are specific batter/pitcher matchups and what ratings from the players make them significant). Otherwise, those statistics are just noise that doesn't mean much to me.

I'm also a baseball nut and was an economics major in college yet I did not know what VORP was until this thread either... I'm still not ready to relearn what I know about baseball...

I like the marginal player idea, but it seems it's not realistically possible to measure the true "average" player (I've been trying to use marginal player analysis for my fantasy league drafts for 3 years now without much success). Perhaps this will inspire me to get up to speed on my Sabrmetrics. Anyone care to recommend an intro book into Sabrmetrics that doesn't talk down to the reader?

When I say I'm a baseball "nut", I mean that I'm crazy for onfield stuff. VORP has nothing to do with hitting a baseball, pitching, or fielding. Why would I ever need a formula to explain how valuable a player is? I can tell by watching how good of a player they are.

And someone already explained it so therefore, I've learned. However, I'm not convinced knowing what it is will make me more informed on the game itself.
