Editing/Importing Roster Questions
I'm trying to develop a league in an alternate universe where the MLB has had their anti-trust exemption revoked. What I'd really like to do is to import a "draft class" before the season begins.
My method for doing so is: 1) Switch the draft time to June - this creates all of the amateurs. 2) Reset and fantasy draft. This distributes the rookies, yes, but the computer manager refuses to call any of them up - even if I up the draft rounds up to 50, they'll have 10 in the majors, 10 on the wire, 5 in AA, and 25 in A. Is there any way I can force them to fill their major league roster (I'm using 6.5, btw) |

Are you saying you want to use real players from MLB?
Do you have the game set to 25 man rosters? |

No - fictional players - the idea is if the league is starting from scratch, it's going to have to start off by drafting amateurs - auto-filling the minor leagues will create sub-par prospects and older players with no upside, and starting off with fictionals will create too much of a spread.
What I'd really really like to do is auto fill the AAA's and edit the ages down and talents up - however, when you do autofill the AAA, it gives you false talents - that is, as soon as you hit the edit button, the talents immediately fall in line with the actual ratings. With that method, if I created an excel function type thing to translate ratings to a new talent rating (for instance: Actual Power*2.4=Talent Power, etc.), it also may work - but I'd like to get genuine prospects. And yes, I have 25 man rosters. |
