Classic minor league team logos
Teams added:
New Orleans Pelicans Oakland Oaks Hollywood Stars Hawaii Islanders Memphis Chicks Nashville Vols Mobile Bears Ft. Worth Cats I was messing around, and adapted the MB Pelicans' logo for the New Orleans Pelicans. I thought I might post more classic minor league teams from time to time, and if anyone else wants to share their own ideas, that would be cool. Last edited by knuckler; 06-30-2007 at 05:57 PM. |

These are cool. I will have to use these in my minor leagues for OOTPBBM2006.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks b-54!
EC, if you see this, do you remember what the original colors for the Pelicans were? Here is an Oakland Oaks logo. I will have another shortly - Last edited by knuckler; 06-30-2007 at 05:57 PM. |

Knuckler, I really like those. If you do try doing some more minor league logos, how about a few more from the old Pacific Coast League. I'd be tempted to use them in a different league. Just a idea.

Nice work, knuckler, as always. I like the first (of the four) scripted "Oaks" the best.

As far as the New Orleans Pels colors...in the early 50's when I used to go to the games at Pelican Stadium, they wore white uniforms with black lettering and orange trim at home. All teams wore gray on the road. Other teams in the Southern Association: (not absolutely sure these are correct, but they are fairly close) Chattanooga Lookouts (White with black lettering with orange trim) Mobile Bears (White with Dodger blue lettering...a touch of red...the number on the front of the uniform...on left side...was red) Memphis Chicks (White with royal blue lettering) Nashville Vols (White and red lettering) Atlanta Crackers (White with dark blue lettering) Little Rock Travelers (White with royal blue lettering) Birmingham Barons (White with black lettering) Last edited by Eugene Church; 04-11-2006 at 06:01 PM. |

I used to see about 50 games a year in New Orleans and Mobile, when I lived in those cities 1950-1958. |

Knuck,
I can't begin to express to you how much I enjoy and respect the work you churn out! I know that I'm not alone in this sentiment, but I just wanted to extend my sincere gratitude to you for making this wonderful game better! dcc

I have said it before and I will say it again...when everything is taken into consideration...talent, longivity on the forum, consistent work over the past 3 years and willingness to do revisions...knuckler is IMO...THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER WE EVER HAD HERE. Longivity is the key here. We have have many, many fine designers, but they have come on the scene, hung around a while and then disappeared. knuckler has stayed. I would put illeracula, pepeda, dbacks, FastLane, Cooleyvol, Faroo6 and several others up with knuckler except they are not here much anymore. A big thanks to them, too. I couldn't think of anything clever for the Vols, so I just fell back on the old standard. if anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them -
