League File Location

I know that this subject has been breached before, but I cannot find the thread and moreover, I do not remember seeing a definitive answer, so I will ask the question once more.

Can we change the location that leagues are saved? I would love to use my thumb drive so that I can run a league on both my laptop and my desktop, without the need to copy and paste files to the OOTP directory.

Well, the other SI games have a default directory but it prompts you and you can change directories manually, so maybe that's how this'll be?

It will likely save slower on a flash drive as well due to the data transfer rate limitation of USB 2.0 vs SATA/IDE. Shouldn't be that big a deal unless you save often.

I keep thinking about using a virtual drive for my leagues, something like they have at http://www.biscu.com/virtual-drive.htm

You could access your league file from any computer - anywhere - that had an Internet connection and you keep them stored online.

You would, of course, want to back them up now and then.

I liked how WWSM defaulted to "My Documents", simply because I have my hard drive partitioned into a "small" drive for my system and program files and a larger drive for my documents and music. I always hated how OOTP made me save my league files on the same drive the program was installed on.

*Woohoo! 1000th post!

There is also some talk that Google may offer a "GDrive" to GMail users, giving everyone with a GMail account a place to store their files online. That would work as well. See http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060305-6316.html for details.

I hope we can put the league file anywhere. I don't really like messing around in my Program Files directory.
