Yeah, the Seahawks are sure pushovers. They just barely managed to eek out a win against the Panthers after all.

Pfft. They were given six wins. They won't even win their first playoff game, I don't care who it's against or where it's played.

Yeah. Hasslebeck couldn't start for 95% of the AFC teams and the Seattle defense will never be able to shut down a premier player.

It's going to be a romp. Cowher is nails in the big game and Holmgren, I'm sure, has no idea what to expect or even how to devise a meaningful game plan.

Just ridiculous. At least the Steelers will surely take their opponents more seriously than a lot of clueless "fans" are. Either team can win this and it will come down to coaching strategy and endurance.

Yup, I'm the leader in our office pool pick em, and I have no idea where to go with this. I'm leaning towards Pitts, but I was leaning towards Carolina until I studied some more.

Yeah, these two teams shake out very evenly. I'm picking Pittsburgh, but with my record this postseason, Seattle fans should be pretty happy with that assessment.

I think he was making fun of Joey Porter saying the League was rigged so the Colts would win, or the Steelers would lose, or whatever nonsense Porter said.

Steelers by a point. Both teams proved they belong in the Super Bowl by convincingly beating their playoff opponants. I think it will be a great game.

TonyJ and I decided on AIM that the game would pretty much come down to Seattle's pass defense vs. the Steelers' pass offense. The Steelers have shown a propensity during the playoffs for throwing early, building a quick lead, and running out the clock/keeping the ball away from the opposing offense with the ground game. If the Seahawks can create pressure on Roethlisberger without blitzing (they can't rely on the blitz to create pressure, their secondary isn't good enough), they can cut off the plan the Steelers have made work so well lately. Assuming the Steelers try it again in round #4, and given the (relative) weakness of the Seahawks' secondary, I don't see why they would not.

And the Seahawks do rush the quarterback extremely well and generally without blitzing. They led the NFL in sacks in the regular season, with the vast majority of them coming from the defensive line. I'm sure that John Marshall and Ray Rhodes will come up with a good plan but with their secondary it may not be executed all that well. The Seahawks managed to shut down the Panthers passing game only because outside of Steve Smith, none of the Panthers receivers could get open against even single coverage which allowed the Seahawks to use multiple defenders, sometimes as many as four, on Smith. They will not have that luxury against the Steelers.
