Streaks?

Do players on hot or cold streaks play with 'adjusted' ratings that tend to prolong their current streak, or are streaks totally random?

In other words, do "hot" players get a ratings bump for the duration of the streak?

The streaks, I believe, are partly attributed to the player's consistency rating but also luck(facing weak pitching) and some randomness as well.
