Logo - Berghoff Brewers

I find out today the Berghoff back home is closing. Rats!!

They were there over 100 years.... I knew my last trip back home I should have gone there but somehow didn't make it over.

Whenever I wanted German food or felt like stepping back in time I would go there. Great place... I really liked the stand up bar too... no stools... (you were OK and could keep drinking as long as you could stand up)

So in memorium I decided to include them in a fictional league. Here's the logos in case anyone else wants them....

And if you want to see what the Berghoff was like, here's a link...

Thanks for the background story. I love to hear things like that.

If you get the time, do a story about the town of Berghoff...its history, culture, ballpark and fan traditions. See the ones I do for my fictional Ruthlandian and Tycobbian leagues for a sample.

The Berghoff Brewers just may show up in my fictional leagues...need to expand 20-40 teams for OOTPBM 2006...I will have 5 fully functional and interrelated leagues then.

I will let you know the teams names...hopefully you will be able do home/away uniforms for the new additions.

Thanks for these very well done logos.

Happy New Year!!

Here is an example of what I mean:

SUGAR VALLEY RATTLERS

STADIUM: FARMERS MEMORIAL STADIUM

Boys and girls take warning, if you go near the lake
Keep your eyes wide open, and look for sneaky snake
Now maybe you won’t see him, maybe you won’t hear
But he’ll sneak up behind you, and drink all your root beer

And then sneaky snake goes dancin’, wigglin’ and a-hissin’
Sneaky snake goes dancin’, gigglin’ and a-kissin’
I don’t like old sneaky snake; he laughs too much you see
When he goes wigglin’ through the grass, it tickles his underneath

THE SOUND OF RATTLERS ALSO PERVADE THE BALLPARK AS SUGAR VALLEY HARDCORE FANS CREATE QUITE A RACKET AND IGNITE THEIR TEAM WITH THEIR MECHANICAL RATTLES, WHICH ARE A TRADITION AT RATTLER GAMES...THEY ALSO "HISS AND HISS" WHENEVER THE RATTLER OPPONENTS DO SOMETHING GOOD...IN ADDITION TO THE HOT DOGS, COCA-COLAS AND HAMBURGERS YOU FIND A WONDERFUL DESSERT...MOUTHWATERING "MADE FROM SCRATCH" COUNTRY BISCUITS TOPPED WITH SUGAR CANE MOLASSES AND " TO DIE FOR" HOMEMADE ICE CREAM...AND THE ARCHITECT IN CHARGE OF ALL OF THIS IS ONE OF BASEBALL'S OUTSTANDING OWNERS AND GENERAL MANAGERS, MANNY EARL...THE RATTLERS MANAGER IS THE VERY CAPABLE GIBSON BOBKINS...GIBBY WAS ONE FIERCE COMPETITOR WHEN HE WAS ON THE MOUND...ONE OF THE BEST RIGHTHANDERS EVER IN AMATEUR LEAGUES.

Not one super logo designer, but two super logo designers worked on that one. Cuss did the basic design and then Le Grande Orange dressed it up with more of the snake's tail. I think, that is the way it happened. But could be wrong.

But you are right, it is an excellent logo.

LivnLegend made the great Cape Coral Hurricanes...the motion of the wind is really special.
