Draft ages
I dont know if this has been brought up before but I would like to be able to set an age range for incoming players. I get way to many 23-24 year old players that show up in my draft pool. I cant see when this happens in the pros unless Im just missing something. Anyway I would like a setting or something to allow you to set ages for incoming players. Either to set an age range ourselves, such as I want 17-20 year olds, or only high school age players, only college, or both. This isnt a big deal but it would be a nice tool to have.

But most players that come out of college come out after their junior years, so they are mostly 20-21. VERY RARELY is a 23 or 24 year old player picked in the first ten rounds. Those are usually 5th year seniors that have no chance of college eligibility left and are picked far down in the draft.
The Royals actually picked some of these guys in high rounds a few years ago and, because the team was so cheap, they offered the 5th year guys $1,000 bonuses (instead of the possible hundreds of thousands they could have had if offered right), take it or leave it. If the players refused, they either had to go to an independant league or retire, and these guys had the talent to play higher than independant. |
