NAHHBL under new format and new co-commish needs a few owner

The nahhbl started waaaay back with OOTP3 in "1980". After switching to v4, v5, v6, and now v6.5, the nahhbl is looking for a few good owners.

A brief history,

The NAHHBL started in 1980 using real major league rosters and all 26 teams. Following the 1980 season, two teams were eliminated and the league switched to a 24 team league with a three divisional setup, adding two Wild Card teams to the playoffs and doubling the number of teams involved in the playoffs. Following the 1985 season, we expanded to 30 teams by adding one additional team in each division, leaving the structure of the league unchanged. After the 1996 season we added two more teams and changed to a four division setup. The fans loved it, but if you didn't win your division, you don't make the playoffs.
Then with the slowing down of the OOTP world due to no OOTP7 being released, the OOTP community slowing down as well, the pains of running a 32 team "fictional" league began to show. Not many people are interested in fictional and by 2003 most of the imported rookies are as such. So the league contracted down to 24 teams in two division in each league with the top two teams of each division making the post season. Kinda a throwback to the 1970's except with the extra teams.

So that's where we sit now. Just started the new 2 division per league setup with 24 teams. There's a few openings as we've also weeded out the deadwood of the league. Those teams are:

Atlanta
Florida
Los Angeles
San Francisco
Colorado

Atlanta, Florida, and San Francisco have some decent prospects and are a season or two away from being a real contender. Colorado is a contender and the current division leader. Los Angeles has alot of vets but could be on the way down if not managed properly.

If you're interested, check out the NAHHBL at http://nahhbl.ootp-online.com/ and go to the forums to apply.

Long time owner very stable and long running with active owners what more can you ask for, some good teams open that can win now and some that need some TLC.. I am the St Louis Cards in the league and you wouldn't regret joinning up.

I have been in the league for a few seasons now and it is a solid league with good owners. Even with the fictional players now coming in the drafts, there are still alot of good young real MLB players in the league. Pujols, Prior, Kearns, Oswalt are just a few names that have been drafted in the past 2 seasons.

So if you're a veteran of ootp or a rookie to ootp, this league is a good place to check out. Come and join us in our quest to bring down the Evil Empire.

Excellent league that is definitely not on steroids. You'll need all your managing skills here to help unseat the Evil Empire (Yankees). The recent contraction has helped. Phesta runs a tight ship, something I like (Don't tell him).

Come aboard and remember, the Royals are your friend. The Yankees, Minnesota, Iowa and Las Vegas are evil and must be defeated.

Phesta made me post this. He told me to tell you it is a great league and that the Commish is great too. He is very caring and considerate ofa ll owners needs. He is very open to rule changes and input from the other GM's.

Seriously, this is a great league and one I've been in for many seasons. Please join. I need some players that are on the CPU teams, so I need a live person there. Please don't trade with Iowa or the Yanks... just Cleveland.

Oh, and get this... the Yanks GM is a Yankees hater and the Red Sux GM is a Yankee fan.

Two cops, one lawyer, (used to be a district attorney something or another) and a stoner rocker.... what's not to love about this league!

Jim

And at one time there were three other lawyers in the league. Ahhh, those were the days.

Baltimore has been contracted. That's not a league. It's an abomination!

we had to contract from 32 to 24 since the participation level seemed to be slumping (look at the number of leagues posting for new owners right now). I hate the O's. Damn them and Sammy Sosa. Long live Jeromy Burnitz.

Seriously, they didn't have an owner and no one wanted to switch to them so they were one of the contracted teams.

ON a positive note, LA was just filled so only Colorado, Atlanta, and Florida remain open

If you join ONE league this winter, join the WPBL.

If you join TWO leagues, join the NAHHBL also.

Seriously, it's a solid league, and I'll pay your league membership for one year if you join.

Just kidding--there are no fees.
