Lewis to Bengals, Mariucci to unemployment line

Dumb, dumb, dumb move by Lewis. He'll be fired within 2 years, since not even God could get the Bengals out of that funk with that horrible ownership.
Lewis head coach of Bungals

Dennis Green a candidate for head coach of the Niners!?!? Hahahahahahah I can only hope!
49ers release Mariucci from final year of contract

Mooch likes the run too much to be the 49'ers guy...
Mooch likes to run, Jeff Garcia thinks he should throw more...
Mooch likes balance: run & pass. That kind of philosophy doesn't get it with pass-master Walsh looking over your shoulder...

...and he hasn't won a Super Bowl. Nevermind that he has done more with less than just about any other coach, I guess with their history, they expect more.

I hope they fall apart, though...I've never like them and it would be a great bit of karma, especially if they get Denny Green as coach (another person I'm just not keen on)

STUPID STUPID STUPID. I can't beleive the Niners just got rid of Mooch. How many teams out there would die to make the playoffs 4 out of 6 years? And have the ability to go from a 4-12 and 6-10 record to back to back playoff years? It's hard to win when you have NO DEFENSE. Look at the the two remaining NFC teams. Philly and Tampa, both have dominating defense. The punter SUCKS and the kicker can't get his kickoffs past the opposing teams 10 yeard line. The Niners only have 1 wide receiver that can make a play. All those Niner fans/Mariucci haters out there do not know what's going to happen. You want Dennis Green, what has he done? Nothing. There are many teams that would die to have a good solid coach like Mooch.

He tooke the Vikings to the playoffs about 8 out of 9 years. And that was with 8 or 9 different Quarterbacks.

Unable to control rowdy players.

Too lax. Leads to alot of sluggishness and lack of motivation.

3-7 record in the playoffs, despite fielding some really good teams.

Finished 4th in the division 2 of his last 3 years, and 4 of his last 7.

And the KILLER: Having a 15-1 team that doesnt even make the superbowl. Truely sad and unnacceptable.

Took Dante Culpepper over Jevon Kearse in the 99 draft. Subtract Dantes only good season, and he has 32 TDs to his 36 INTs.

Well, I would say that this will bite the 49ers in the ass, but i said that last year about Tampa Bay and Dungy, and look where Tampa Bay is now.

Mooch to Jacksonville?

Wow, makes me wonder what would have happened if Mariucci had jumped at the Glazer's offer to coach Tampa Bay this year forcing Gruden to stay in Oakland? As it is, he hesitated and TB went to Godfather Al and struck a deal.

Either way, the Raiders are where they are today

Also true.

3-7 record in the playoffs, despite fielding some really good teams.

True, but it should have at least been 4-6, I'll go over that in a second.

Finished 4th in the division 2 of his last 3 years, and 4 of his last 7.

They were in the toughest division in the NFL with Packers, Bucs, and the Lions (when they had Barry).

And the KILLER: Having a 15-1 team that doesnt even make the superbowl. Truely sad and unnacceptable.

First, Falcons were not exactly pushovers, they were 14-2. Second, Gary Anderson blew that game when he missed the 38 yard FG. If he made it, the score would have been 30-20, and the Vikings almost certainly would have won it.

Took Dante Culpepper over Jevon Kearse in the 99 draft. Subtract Dantes only good season, and he has 32 TDs to his 36 INTs.

Take away Jevon's 1st year, and he has 23.5 sacks in 3 years. Then, put him on the Vikings DL, where they have nobody good, besides Hovan the past 2 years, and he probabl;y doesn't have that many.
But, I don't really like Green that much. As a Vikings fan, I was glad to see him go, and very glad that they have Tice. By the way, my respones are in the quotes.

Also, the Niners are going to get ZERO compensation which makes it even more painful when looking at the team across the bay and all their draft picks and the cash they got from TB.

I sure wish there was a way Mooch could land in Chicago ... maybe sit out a year and see what happens?

Not only that, everyone was going on about how great Mooch was and look how that turned out. Of course, I think the blame should fall on Matt Millen, but still funny.

I bet people are still glad to not have Denny Green though

Or Mike Tice for that matter

Really though, does Matt Millen have incriminating photos of the Lions owner or what? How does he still have a job?

Terry Bradshaw says Tice has the inside track on coach of the year so I don't know what you are talking about

I kind of wonder if Harrington was Millen's pick or if he was pressured by ownership. That could be a reason that they have not fired him.

Harrington isn't the problem I don't think. Actually, I think the Lions are kind of like an object lesson on the need for good offensive linemen. They have no shortage of skill position players but the O-Line sucks. As does the defense.
