Importing players.csv into MS Access
I created the csv reports through comish joe's exporter and want to open up players.csv in access to create a query.
I went through the process of importing players.csv as a table and I get to the following screen where I have to select data type as "text" instead of "long integer" so that Access doesn't blow up when importing the data. However, I have to manually change it for each of the 172 fields. Is there a faster way to do this? Am I totally taking a wrong approach? Any help would be appreciated. sf, I recommend creating a link table to the CSV. When you do this, it will do a wizard. Tell it that " is the text identifier, and that the first row contains headers. Then skip all of the individual field settings.
This gives you a table that gets automatically refreshed any time you re-export! That works great for me! I usually do the same with the fielding file, and then join them via the relationship mgr. PM me if you need more info! |

No problem. I'm pretty familiar with the different data fields now, so if you're not sure how to get at something, just send me a PM!
