DB for 6.5b

Is there a particular, or specific, database that is preferred/recommended for v6.5b? We are going to move up to 6.5b from 5.0, and I will be importing players from scratch. We have been using Lahman's 5.2 since it came out. If 5.2 is still a valid database, I could then just import this year's v5 league into 6.5b, and reset everything.

Looking for ideas, and or recommendations.

There's a million of them. Ankit was the pioneer and I know people who swear by his work. arod seems to be the prodigal son and has been pumping them out left and right. I've yet to sample his work though.

What makes their databases better than Lahman's?

Lahman's is just a straight up database of the player's statistics. Lahman edit's the database so that players import better into OOTP. You would have to take a look at the readme to find out exactly what he changes.

Lahman's is plain vanilla.

Ankit has made fine tweaks to make the players more "real" within OOTP. Also, his Career Average and Normalized DBs are a godsend.

Again, I'm not sure arod's but he's been pimped around this place a lot. I will plan on checking out his stuff soon.
