Best way to start a 15 Team League?

Can someone give me advice for the best way to start a 15-20 team league only. MLB teams and Players. I was thinking of just deleting the players from the teams not taken, but some players are good.

I heard of a league that put those players away for drafts, how do you do that?

Or start from a draft, but that would take to much time.

Any feedback is welcome.

Is it a solo league? If so you can't really draft them; in an online league you can hold a draft outside the game and then just assign the players to their new teams. Otherwise I'd say your best bet would be to sim ahead one year to the start of the offseason, then delete the teams you don't want and it will dump their players into free agency and you can bid on them during the normal offseason free agency period.
