Why do photos not show up in game?
I have about 390 of the 400 photos I need for my Alltime Allstar Association.
I had no problem converting them to .bmp's...but there are about 5 photos that are correctly labeled with first name/space bar/last name...and they are .bmp's...but they do not load. (EDITED: SHOULD HAVE SAID "UNDERSCORE"...my mistake...sorry) Any ideas on how to get them to install? Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-25-2005 at 08:22 PM. |

The naming convention is firstName_lastName.bmp Use the space bar if you have "Baby Doll" (first name), "Jacobson" (last name) so its "Baby(spacebar)Doll(underscore)Jacobson.bmp" or "Ken Griffey Jr" would be "Ken(underscore)Griffey(spacebar)Jr.bmp". Edit: In case you mistyped your note... wrote "spacebar" when you meant to write "underscore"... check the spelling of the name vs the bmp file, an extra space, period or mistyped name will throw it off. The first and last name on the player card has to match exactly the filename (capitalization doesn't matter). If you have "Ken Griffey Jr." (with a period) on the player card and the pic is "Ken_Griffy Jr.bmp", then it will look to match "Ken Griffey Jr" (no period) in the player card or try to find "Ken_Griffey Jr..bmp". "J.R. Richard" is "j.r._richard.bmp".... "J. R. Richard" is "j. r._Richard.bmp". Last edited by jdew; 06-25-2005 at 06:21 PM. |

label them as p1075 for example. If they have accent marks in the names they won't show up unless they are labeled as the p###.html

I actually have had something weird like this happen myself. All I did was change the first and last name....like to t and s and then re-did the name and then the photo showed up. Had it happen 3 or 4 times when I was editing in my 2005 1st round draftees and putting their photos into my game. I didn't change the spelling of the name....just changed it and then changed it back. Don't know why they wouldn't show up the first time.

I have ones that say Photo not found and put them in the right section for the league I'm playing!

In one case, the first name was last and last name first...corrected that one. But I have several others that looked perfect...Biz_Mackey is the way the photo is labeled and that is how it is spelled in the game...just like the other several hundred photos that work...I have even tried to assign the photo the player's game ID number...and this doesn't work. I'll keep at it and see if I made little errors and overlook them. Thanks for the detailed explanations...you are one of the best, when it comes to explaining how the game works. |

Hmmmmm...
On the Biz_Mackey thing, if you rename the bmp to his p####.bmp and it still doesn't work or the name is exactly correct character for character, in the right format and it still doesn't work, what I'd do is re-convert the jpg to a bmp. There might have been some sort of error in the conversion because at that point what its telling you is that it can't find a usable bmp by name or p# in the photos folder. If that still doesn't work, post the pics here and I'll get them to work. Its just not right to have Biz and the others faceless.... |

I am beginning to think that when I typed the player's first or last name, I may have added a space in them, causing the problem. Maybe jdew or some of the other resident geniuses can explain it. Thanks, truthserum. Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-27-2005 at 12:56 PM. |
