Lots and lots of player photos (question)

I have about 15,000 player photos. My question (and concern) is..will OOTP6 use them all or is there a point where OOTP6 will stop (say at 5,000) and then start over? I want original player pics for all of my players. If I have a few doubles thats OK.

Thanks.

Depends on how many players you have I guess. You can look and see them represented in your league_news_box folder. Once a guy retires (thereby freeing up his player ID), OOTP will re-use that pitcher for the rook who comes in with the prior player ID. I don't think you will ever need close to 15,000.

An easy way to check is to go into your OOTP directory and look for the highest pxxxx.txt number you find.

15,000 is way more than you need for any league I've seen. It depends on the size of your league of course.

If you don't want pictures to duplicate I guess you could rename all the pic files to the player it is assigned to. So if John Smith is player p1 then just rename the picture file JohnSmith.bmp instead of p1.bmp. Of course you can do this for you star players and don't worry too much about scrubs and minor leaguers......you will need to put a new p1.bmp file in the photos folder when John Smith retires....

I used 5,000 photos in 12 years...finally decided not to use the minors and create my own rookies...to save on photos...also to avoid the unrealistic stats and promotion system of the game's minor leagues...and to get productive young players in my leagues.

15,000 should do just fine.

What don't you upload all of your photos to JoeRock's site (with permission, of course)?

It would be great to have that number of photos available.

Thanks guys.

As far as the photos, they are all a combination of LL, Kilbrew, DD and a few others.

I guess my question is, who do you find the player photos in the "photos" folder located in the league folder? There are about 15,000 photos to search through. Is there an easer way to do this or do I search through the player folder an try to find the pic? Thanks.

When trying this the pic does not show up then. I put a name in "P-LavorisBrewer" and when I went back to the game he no lober had a picture. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

You don't need the P when you name the photo. Just the players firstname and lastname.

Yep, FirstName_LastName.bmp

That's the format, it's also an underscore not a space.
