6.5 Bug (Waiver Wire)

I claimed a player on the waiver wire and after due process recieved the e-mail confirming that I had acquired the player and that he was "designated for assignment".

Upon moving to the the transactions screen, I find that he's not listed in the "assignment" section, nor is he listed on any of the four (MLB, AAA, AA, A) rosters, nor is he on the 40 Man.

After getting this and seeing a relief pitcher hit for himself in the 9th, while behind 8 - 2, I believe I'll wait for the patch.

Like the present day Astros, I'll always be a fan, because I wouldn't know how not to, and I feel the same way about OOTP. However, I have to say that I'm VERY disappointed, when I see a pitcher hit for himself in the 9th when behind by six runs. Priorities.....................

The bells and whistles are all great, truly, but the AI should never be allowed to be laughable.

Gotta love that wacky AI. Probably used up all his bench players by, oh, around the 7th inning.

I already spent my 10 bucks and it looks well worth it. With that said a relief pitcher batting down 8-2 in a ball game is inexcusable. I'm sure this will be rectified when the patch is released.

I checked, the computer had three hitters available at the time.

I love this game, but this is inexcusable.

what if you are short on arm in the pen? or maybe the guy is a decent hitter. there are any number of valid reason to leave a RP in the game, even more in a 8-2 game

Just what percentage of games do you expect to be able to win when you are down 6 runs in the 9th inning?

i guess he trying to say, that in the major league, you dont usually see a pitch hitter for a Middle reliever when you are behind in the 9th unless your out of hitters.

There's no argument that justifies letting the pitcher hit in this situation. Unles syou score 6 or more runs, the pitcher's not going throw another pitch in this game...so it's extremely unlikely that you'll save any arms by letting him hit.

Maybe the bullpen was all used up from that game and the previous night or two and this guy was all they had left. I wouldn't say letting the pitcher bat being six runs down is totally outrageous since there are so many extraneous events that influence the decision. I would like to think that the pitcher may have been a better hitter than the scrubs left on the bench. I have seen some teams use pitchers as pinch hitters because they swing the bat real well. The Cubs for instance will let Mark Prior hit in a lot if situations that pitchers usually don't and that's because he is a good hitter. They have also used him as a pinch hitter before.
