What factor is biggest in determining a players avg?

I was just curious what rating plays the biggest role in determining how high or low a players average will be. I guess I just need clarification of Contact and Eye. I'm assuming that the higher the contact rating, the more likely the player is to be base hits. The higher the Eye rating, the higher the average will likely end up being? Is that right? If so, does a high contact and high power rating take away from homerun totals since the contact is close to the same as power rating?

Hidden "clutch" rating. Plus, if the player is named "Scott Rolen" he will always hit .300 or better. I think Markus loves Scott Rolen or something it's not fair the game is stupid.

Actually, from what I've seen, CH and PH are completely removed from one another. You make a player with a 45 CH and a 120 PH, he'll hit .240 with 75 homeruns. Patience might have a tiny effect, but I haven't seen a great deal there either.

I believe Contact relates most to average.

Eye relates to how good he is at drawing walks. Check players at the opposite end of the spectrum and you'll see. I've seen players with a high Eye rating draw almost as many walks as hits.

As Johnny S. said , Contact and Power are separate. If a player is highly rated in both, then you've got a high average guy with power.
