Put OOTP 6.5 feature requests here :)

You know how it goes, sometimes there is a feature sorely lacking which isn't really that hard to code, sometimes in even less than an hour This is your chance to fire suggestions for small features/tweaks at me... so, let's go! This week all planned features will be implemented, so there some time left for some new stuff...

PS: Regarding OOTP 7 : The past several months there was really not much need for community input on my side, as I hammered the basics into the game. Once the game engine is completely finished, you guys (and I fully understand that the community are the reason #1 for the success of OOTP) come into play and I'll ask you tons of stuff. For example how you would like scouting to work, how player/manager interaction should look like, what are the most important media aspects in baseball and so on... I for myself can never have as many ideas and knowledge as you guys combined have. And I won't be stupid and ignore this fact

How about an award for the best reliever? Or would that be too tough for 6.5?

It would be possible, however it'd be a pain in the a** to store this in the player data. Also, you would not be able to change the name because there is no place left in the league structure...

Ahhh, I see. So this is something best left for version 7 then...

How about an option to allow home field advantage for the world series to be decided by the allstar game? For those who want to replicate current MLB rules...

How about including more stats on the yearly leaderboards within the game? WHIP, defensive range and such? Too much of a hassle?

Yup, I had that on my list as well... I want to include BABIP where possible, like team reports, player stats etc...

Question/suggestion: Will we have stats from Japan and Cuba for the Japanese and Cuban players who come into the league? The suggestion would be, if not, can we? I play with talent off, and don't want to base my scouting of these players entirely on their star ratings.

Nice, thanks. Another relly small feature you could give a shot at is that little thingy, ya know Catobase. Hardly two mins of coding, pal.

How about an MVP for each playoff series? Or would that encounter similar difficulties as the reliever award?

Hey Markus,

some small things I'd like to see:

1. Team player of the year award (Combination of stats and how popular the player is)- would be enough if it's saved to the player history file.
2. Owner tendencies (tightwad or spender)- has influence on allowed payroll.
3. Emails from owner: "Welcome to team", "Let's rebuild", "Win it all", "You suck" etc...
4. Top Prospect list of 20 not only 10.
5. A team history page of all the teams MVP's, Cy Youngs, ROY etc... - Just to see how succesful a team has been in gathering talent.

Thanks Markus und "Weiter so" .

Sorry, no stats there... you can read the scouting reports though, which will give you a good idea of the player abilities...

I like it. More interactions from the staff/organization.

How about have the option to show the lineup with combined stats instead of vs L and vs R. Like how it is when you go to start a game and see the lineup.

Also, would it be possible to put a Add League button in the League Structure Screen? is it possible with v6?

One thing that we do in our league is keeping a copy of the Top Prospects List as of Opening Day to compare them with the current list as the year progresses. Kinda like a way to keep track of busts and whatnot throughout the season. Not much of a feature, I know, but just came to mind.

Markus, glad to see Marc found the key and let you out for a few minutes.

I'd love to see either and option to hide the injury prone rating, or to see it go away when other ratings are turned off.
