Crash plus Game screen questions

I've just purchased OOTP6 and had no problem installing database but the game has crashed 5 out of first 7 games. I've read the other crash thread and turned 3D off to no avail. Also ,is there any way to alter the game screen. The PBP seems very hard to follow whether on the left or at the bottom of the screen, it's superimposed on other script. The player ratings at the bottom of the screen are also hard to read because of the pale and scarcely contrasting colours.Can these be altered. Sorry to appear so negative, any help would be much appreciated.

Try changing your desktop color depth. Are you playing with sounds ON? If so, turn them off and that should fix the crashes.

Turned sounds off. game crashed after 1st inning. can't find a way to make pbp clearer since it's the out of town scoreboard and lineup panel over which the pbp scrolls. I'm running XP on fairly new laptop with plenty of space. Thanks for suggestions .

Screen res should be 1024x768.

Steve, current resolution is 1024x768 True colour (60hz).

Hard to tell, I have the game on my laptop and have never had a crash. Likely something system specific but not sure what.

Steve, thought I'd turned off 3D before but double checked and everything becomes much clearer (no pun intended ). everything seems to be O.K now
