Ahba Has Openings!!!
The AHBA inagural season was just completed. We have had some openings due to lack of owner participation and people just get busy schedules. So I have 6 teams that need to be filled. I have cleaned house of owners that lacked participation. Every team has a salary cap and teams have same revenues for first and second year.
AHBA WEBSITE that is the site and the file will be on the download button. This League is HALOFAN recomended and a fun kicked back league. Only serious offers contact me at: AIM zbcav23 or EMAIL ME TEAMS OPEN: Are on the front page of the website, THANKS ZACH Last edited by zbcincy30; 01-12-2005 at 06:55 PM. |

For a minute there I was thinking this would be a decent league to join until I looked into it a little more. So when teams no longer have owners they're just left for dead? There are quite a few that have about 11-12 guys on the rosters. And of course those have pitching staffs entirely on the DL due to overuse. Brett Myers 0-11 with ER's in the high 20's and 30's lately? What a joke.
How exactly can you have a legitimate league and allow crap like that? And no one spoke up? I guess getting those freebie wins was more important than truly having a good league? Wow. I think I'll pass on this league. Good luck with attracting owners to those ghost teams that are already 3-17 or something similar. That's terrible. |

Hey this is a good league. Was suffering from some Second Season Bumps. I am now the co-commish and have gone out and made it a point to fix these issues. I can vouch for the league and with some more owners who are dedicated and willing to point things out that may be missed. This will be the solid league it was in season 1

These errors have been corrected. All teams have been filled and the injuries on those teams have been retracted. Owners please feel free to look over the league and check out the file. This league is a very good one and had a great 1st year! Contact any owners in the league now and ask there feelings, they will tell you how good this league is!

So you think it's okay to have all the bye weeks teams are benefitting from by playing half-filled rosters?
Check out these games that are Brett Myers starts this year alone ... 14-0, 18-5, 21-2, 26-3, 37-1, 16-6, 24-4, 25-5 He's giving up 90 earned runs the last four games. That's an absolute JOKE. I could see one blowout using OOTP but nothing like that. Again I ask, how can you have a credible league by allowing that? If you're the co-commish, step in and at LEAST get those substandard teams to having a minimum of a roster and pitching staff. That way they can field a team. Right now you can't say that when teams are at 15 players or less. Look at the A's pitching staff. Do they have a SINGLE guy healthy? |

Mind my own business? You asked for potential owners and I looked into to find that Baltimore has a total of 9 offensive players. Kansas City has 7 offensive players. Oakland has 10 players PERIOD. Cleveland has 13 PERIOD. Philadelphia has 12 PERIOD. Milwaukee has 17 and Montreal 19.
You may have cleaned up the most recent file but why did it take 20 games to do so? That doesn't make sense. A good league would have expected it fixed immediately if it really wanted to find the best team, not the team who was fortunate enough to be scheduled against all the patsies early in the year. |

I don't blame you. But anyone who clicks on the link you've advertised above will see that I'm right no matter how much arguing you do.
Good luck with cleaning it up. I recognize some of the owners so you could have a nice group. But it takes more than 22 to run a league of 30 teams. |

Give the guy a break. He's new to running leagues and you come in hear and start bashing instead of trying to help. He had the guy helping quit due to time constraints and was doing this all himself. I just became co-commish and between us went through and found all this out. We had 22 owners who wanted to start so we gave the old owners 2 sim dates to see if they would do activity. Once they didn't they were removed. That is it. This is a great league that once filled will be the strong machine it was during season 1.

Justin,
Trying to help is what I was doing. When it was discovered that there were MULTIPLE Major League rosters not full, the commish (or co-commish if applicable) should have stepped in and either required it to be corrected immediately or replacing the owner and making the necessary improvements himself. You can't go 20 games into a season with the lack of players on some of the teams. OOTP can be rough at times on players and teams, but not anywhere near what Brett Myers (for example) has been put through. C'mon, 90 ER's in 4 games? If things were being maintained, that just wouldn't happen. I'm sure you are in the process of putting together a fine league. All I'm suggesting is you keep an eye on things as they're happening and deal with them then rather than finding out miles down the road you've got problems because you ignored them earlier. I don't know the guy and am not trying to bash him. I merely was making one lone point, keep things fair for everyone (by filling teams yourself if you have to) and you'll have a better chance retaining or attracting good/active owners. Plain and simple. |

I appreciate your so-called help. We have taken the neccessary steps to rectify the situation. Most of the teams you are talking about are only one game back in their divisions. Also the Philly owner was brand new to OOTP and had problems exporting and now that is fixed. So you can throw your Brett Myers example out of the window. And mile and miles I consider would be alot more than 20 games, but it is a matter of opinions. I guess that is my fault for being to loyal, never knew that was a bad quality.
Like I have said if you are looking to join please contact my other owners and let them tell you about the league. Thanks guys Zach Last edited by zbcincy30; 01-12-2005 at 05:46 PM. |

That's fine but like I said he was doing it alone and relied on owner's past history and cut them a break. Now that I am here I have stepped to help and we picked it off. Also made rule adjustments and instituted a fine system for owner not obliging. Thanks for point out the problems we had but rest assured we are now on top of it

I just want to take a few seconds to prop this league. Yes, we have had a few inactive owners of late, hence the posting on this board. I was one of the teams that received "cheap" wins due to inactive roster management and did speak up. The problem has been resolved and I look forward to a great 2nd year.
We had a successful first year. We learned a few things a long the way too. Zach, the commissioner, does a great job and recently appointed a co-commissioner. I'm involved in several leagues; ISBL, MLBsim, Beta Baseball and GBPA, and AHBA is one that has gone through it's trials and tribulations, as all leagues have, and is on the right track. Give it a shot, you'll be glad you did. |
