Tim McCarver

How does this guy manage to call the game while having Derek Jeter's cock in his mouth the entire game? Can we get some kind of a bounty together and offer it to whomever can send us the head of Tim McCarver in a box?

"You see Steve, the reason that Yankee pitchers get such great velocity on their fastballs is that giant sucking force coming from the general are of Derek Jeter's sack and up into this booth...it gives them that little bit of extra 'umph' that they need to blow hitters away"

His best call tonight..."you don't want spin on a knuckleball." Thanks Tim. What would we do without you?

I can't stand Joe Buck either. I'm not really sure why....but something about the way he calls the game irritates me.

He's better than Chip is, but then again, few PBP guys are that bad. FOX should hire Vin Scully, Bob Costas, or John Miller so we wouldn't have to listen to that crap. I mean, seriously, Steve Lyons doing color for the fricking LCS???? What?

You know, I hear these arguments against the bad commentary every year, but for some reason this year seems immensely pronounced. Here's hoping FOX & ESPN take heed and bring in some fresh voices in 2004.

I can't stand McCarver, either. But better McCarver than Morgan, that's all I'll say.

Every routine grounder hit to Jeter turns into an Ozzie Smithlike unbelievable play to McCarver... its embarrassing listening to McCarver suck up to Jeter and the rest of the Yankees... That wallball to Matsui was a joke, you'd think nobody ever pulled the fake before... Yo Tim, think maybe the runner was waiting to see how the ball came off the wall before trying to score??? Why do so many pbp and color analysts in all sports get so attached to certain teams??? Yankees, Cowboys, Lakers etc, you'd think all the announcers are being paid off by them....

uhh, no, since he paused close to 2nd base I do have to pat Matsui on the back for that one. Especially since he's relatively new to playing at Fenway.

Uh, yes, he was looking to see how the ball came off the wall... I live in NE, I watch the Redsox, playing the wall is as important for runners as it is for fielders...

So he paused at 2nd to see how the ball was going to come off the wall to tell if he could score or not?? Wouldn't it be the 3rd base coaches' job to do that? Sorry, I dont see the logic in this.

I don't think the third base coach would have a good angle on it really. Matsui could deke the coach as well, and since the runner is going towards that direction, where he can see Matsui anyway, see the Green Monster, he should be making a judgment of his own.
