What?
Last season I was in Low Silver. Didnt win it.
This season I jumped up to High Gold. Can you please explain this.... I have never been in High Gold... Now instead of being able to make a playoff push in High Silver..... I will rot in the cellar in the High Gold.. THIS IS BS!!!!

Not sure why an admin would message me about something they consider swearing instead of answering my question...

What was your record last week? I'm guessing something like 140-22, in which case you were the dubious beneficiary of a super promotion based on having a team that was head and shoulders above the competition at its former league level.

I voted this game: the game I love, I suck at on Steam.
They bumped me 3 levels. I am barely able to keep my head up at the levels I am at. This is flat out unfair. God forbid, I have a good season. They are going to be dropping me like a stone and yet another season under 500. Wasted time and effort.

Yes, High Gold is getting to be more like Low-Low Diamond right now. Very tough to compete without a decent number of PT Elite toppers plus the Usual Suspects (Johnson, Matthewson, etc.) in the pitching rotation. The good news is that the move from Gold to Diamond is not all that extreme right now. If you can succeed there, Low Diamond won't be a shock to the system.
Where are you in terms of missions and other acquisitions, and how much do you have to spend? There are some pretty solid pitchers available for around 100K in the shop. 30-50K will get you serviceable arms, or better if you can complete the right single-team PT Elite missions (Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Astros, Dodgers especially). If you're short on game cash, you could consider selling off unproductive assets. |

Leed already gave the answer
![]() If you have a really good regular season record your team will get "super promoted" skipping tiers. A more in depth explanation: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...52&postcount=9 |

does this mean i will be back where my team belongs after losing 94 games?
this is a broken system. i am in a league whose teams are vastly composed of 105, 104, 103 for their entire roster. as i scroll through their teams of 105 Aaron Judge or like... my team cannot compete. what a waste of a week...

there should also be a championship (must win) clause at best behind the broken super promotion system.
A choice to the user.... I feel robbed. My time and effort mean zip. I am not winning championships... I had 1 good season and was hoping for another. BROKEN SYSTEM

The problem with your suggestion is that it would incentivize players to tank in the playoffs so that they could avoid super promotion altogether. Since (I suspect) super promotions were implemented to keep players from gaming the system to remain in lower-level leagues where they can dominate and rack up lots of achievement points....

Good grief
Play out the season, quit complaining, accept the demotion, play out that season and see what happens. Most likely another demotion. Then you'll be at the level your team probably deserves to be in. The good news is that you get two weeks where the best thing you can do is get your pack drops from logins, streamers, etc, and don't open them until you stabilize at a sensible level. By that time, there will be enough new content that your pack opening spree may luck into some new content cards.
In the meantime, build some tournament teams. Maybe you'll get a few clubhouse stars along the way. Probably best is for you to do live bronze tourneys, the cards are affordable and you don't have to worry about variants. It's hard for new players to accept the fact that they are not going to have a triumphant march where they move up a level every couple of weeks until they get to the Perfect league. It's a tough grind. At this time of year you have to play hard just to stay at the same level. |

No Dave
That would just make dumping that much more attractive.

Yeah, while most of us try to improve and move up the ladder, there are still people looking to tank and have their teams play against the ghost teams in low-level leagues for the achievement points and the "thrill" of being the big fish in a small pond. Super demotions would just encourage that.

I think the super promotion is too steep. At least hinge it on a spectacular season AND a championship. I had a great record at Low Silver and shot up to High Gold.
I did not win a championship. Those Super Promotions should also be a choice. I am not that ambitious. I just want a competitive team that has the ability to make the playoffs. I am ALWAYS on this game. My family makes fun of my "fake team". But it is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night.

I don't think Super Promotions are ever going to be a choice for players, because of the aforementioned tanking/gaming the system issues we've had in the past.

I do not disagree with the up 1, down 1. However if I am busting my butt or even paying more to ootp baseball, why would they penalize that?
There are so many intangibles in this game.... if i have a fantastic season, why would you bump me up 3 levels? that season becomes a waste because my team cannot compete. You obviously are a lot better at this game than me... easy to see looking at your signature. if you want to send me some tips on strategies or how to get your team to perform consistently.... PLEASE HELP! I have no real opinion outside of being bumped so dramatically and literally wasting a week.... i dont mind sucking at the game.... i do not do it on purpose.... but do not penalize me when i have a good season and poised to do ok at the next plus 1 level. if you are going to bump me so dramatically, i should i have a vote.

i was already frustrated getting bounced from tournament in championship series.....
i was excited for the next season.... i knew i was going up 1.... flat out disappointing experience. knowing my next season was going to rot in the celler. at some point you have to empathize with silent majority who make up the mid and lower levels.

Getting your butt whipped
After a superpromotion can be either a hell if you focus on you W-L record or an opportunity to look at who the successful players are at that level and focus on acquiring them in the near future.
It's all how you look at it. You have the power to make this game interesting, or a living hell. And as Dishnet says, games with league structures like this one are prone to seeing teams dump their rosters and drop down a few levels to acquire the PP's necessary to upgrade their roster. Worst are the guys who get to the playoffs with all perfect rosters and then in the playoffs irons and bronzes assume key roles. |
