Hey OOTP Devs & Community,
First off, thanks for crafting such an immersive sim—having played as my GM/Manager for years, I’ve grown attached to that profile’s evolution.
However, I’m now hitting a snag in the immersion flow:
My in-game GM/Manager is now 71 years old, and after decades of nuanced decision-making, it feels like the right moment to retire him—and perhaps even start fresh with a new profile to keep things realistic.
The catch? All of those carefully curated
shortlists (prospects, trade targets, staff, etc.) are tied to my old profile. Retiring my GM/Coach means losing access to those key planning tools—and that’s painful for long-term saves. I also like to look back at older shortlist and archive ones. I would lose that too currently.
My preference is not to have an immortal deity running my organisation, but current game almost chooses that outcome for you if you want to preserve your shortlists.
Would it be possible to implement a feature like:
- “Transfer shortlists to new GM/Manager profile” upon retirement—or
- Export/import functionality so we can save our shortlists and assign them to a new user profile?
It’d keep the gameplay immersion flowing and let legacy planning survive a realistic transition.
I'm quite prepared to accept the response that my needs, in this instance, represent a very minor edge use case scenario.
Cheers, and thanks for considering it!
