Striiiinging us aloooong

I love baseball. I really do. But maaaan I get tired of the way free agency plays out. Example......

Bregman interest growing in several teams.
Teams showing interest in Bregman.
Bregman's list of suitors growing.
Playoff teams eyeing Bregman.
Bregman headed for playoff team?
Best fits for Bregman.
What we're hearing about Alex Bregman.
__________ linked to Bregman
etc.
etc.
etc.

These aren't real headlines. Just my examples of the over and over and over of this. Yes, I know it's to keep our rumor interest, but after awhile, I quit reading MLB updates and give it a few days to see if anything has happened. This might be another reason why the NFL is more popular. When NFL free agency opens, it's a mad do or die race on the first day. People can pretty much bank that SOMEthing will happen immediately. Baseball has the most exciting and boring free agency because you wait anxiously to see where someone will end up, but the process puts you to sleep.

MLB clickbait is an industry unto itself.

I would much prefer a site like the free agency tab in OOTP where I can just see the list with all the new contracts signed:

Player - Team - Years - Total Dosh

I can do entirely without all the puff and fluff pieces.

Speaking as someone with four decades in media...those stories draw clicks and eyeballs. You can gripe about them, and we may actually hate writing them, but it gets the readers which generates the revenue which lets us keep a roof over our heads.

Depends on the person. Because I got so sick of the same thing over and over that I check the MLB news at the end of each day.

Isn't this kind of normal 4 MLB now? It's like all the owners are colluding to keep from driving salaries too high. And the agents aren't in a rush to sign a deal too early.

Wanna buy Cardinals opening day tickets? Still many thousand available.

This is unprecedented, in my experience.
