Does future seasons need new version?

IE If I started a historical game in OOTP22 and and coming up on 2023 in the game do I need to move to OOTP23 to automatically import the rookies from 2023?

Also I assume automatically import the rookies includes international players?

The previous versions of the game do not have their historical databases "back-fiilled" so, yes, you would need a version of the game that includes that historical season in order for it to be pulled into your save.

Yes, players that come to MLB from international leagues come in as rookies in the appropriate year.
