Walk Up Music

One of my favorite thing to do is go to MLB.com and then go to team pages and find the music that the players listen to for entries and walk up music then listen to it.

Some of my favorites are obviously from the Giants especially "El Mechon" the song Sergio Romo plays coming out.

So just for fun, who has your favorite walk up music and if you were a big leaguer what would you walk out to?

Mine would be "Impression that I Get" The Mighty Bosstones.

Mine would be The Game by Motorhead. My screen name has multiple meanings. My favorite is Enter Sandman I want to say Trevor Hoffman used this. I prefer pitchers.

When he was with the Nationals, Rick Ankiel used Ram Jam's "Black Betty" for a time, which I thought worked pretty well as walk up music.

For my RTTS character in MLB: The Show, I use:

The Stone Roses, "Driving South"
Faith No More, "From Out of Nowhere"
Earth, Wind & Fire, "Shining Star"

I've already been to 2 Reds' games this year and I thought Chris Heisey's song was pretty cool. It's weird because I thought it sounded familiar and it ended up being by a Christian rapper I listen to: Trip Lee.

Anyway, I have said for years that I would probably use "Calm Like a Bomb" from Rage Against the Machine.

If I'm pitching, I gotta go with "Paint it Black" by the Stones. Not only is it a great song, but the lyrics/message/tone fit perfectly.

Joey Votto? It doesn't make as much sense for a batter to use that song, although I do appreciate his taste in music.

If I was a batter, I think I'd go with "Business Time" by Flight of the Conchords. I'd bend over and pull up my breeches/stirrups when the business socks line was played.

Don't know if Hoffman used it in the past but "Enter Sandman" is owned by Mariano Rivera at the present time.

EDIT: Actually, according to this, Hoffman's music was "Hell's Bells." It also says there that Hoffman inspired the Yankees to come up with a similar song for Rivera which became "Enter Sandman."

Aroldis Chapman walks out to the beginning of "Wake Up" by Rage Against the Machine. I like that, too, but nothing will top Mo's.

Billy Wagner used "Enter Sandman".
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/05/sp...mets.html?_r=0. I remember the papers had a field day when both NY closers used the same theme song.

I would choose "Harder Faster" by WASP, but I dont think Selig would like the song much.

For MLB the show I usually use "Breed" by Nirvana. My favorite is still 'enter sandman' for Hoffman/Rivera

I think Eric Gagne might have used this song from what I can find while actually find this song, but if i were a closer i would use this song. Starts st 3:48
Sports on Canvas: Baseball - YouTube
The Closer (a baseball song) - Lyric Sheet

For a SP I would use The Game by Motorhead, which in part is why I have this screen name.

Great topic!

in my fantasy life, I'd be a closer in the MLB, and my entrance music would have to be "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed. Believe Josh Johnson uses it today irl?

As far as current/recent favorites, gotta have Brian Wilson's "Jump Around" on the list. Luis Gonzalez used the first few bars of "Heavy" by Collective Soul which always sounded very cool when blasted out of a stadium's sound system. And of course, "Enter Sandman" for Mo...funny since he didn't even pick it nor even cares for it, but that song should be retired by MLB when he retires at the end of this year

That's what I would use. I used it as entrance music in a backyard wrestling fed me and some friends did when we were teens, so I suppose I can say I have lol.

I think "Stronger" by Kanye West might also be pretty cool as walk up music. Or "Not Afraid" by Eminem.
