LBA Introduces Team Hats. Need input please!

This fictional/fantasy league is coming more "real" every day!

I can picture "Pretty Boy" Jake Loescher wearing the Riva Rage hat...or the notorious Sarinelos Bullpen in their black Screamer hats...the Big Dogs of Geo Bahn wearing the gold and blue...Mike DuPree struggling on the mound to improve on last year's horrible performance.... in a black and red Robins hat, the original "C" with red robin designed by Joe Moore....the Mastport Steamer's Adam Redford sporting the logo originally designed by Mark Cooley...and the Dennis Larsen of the Baltica Phoenix with his camero mullet beneath the blue and red hat whose original logo was put together by Daniel Church....

.............

After making 16 hats which required a lot of color tweeking and image chopping/resizing my perceptions get really screwed up as far as looking at the overall outcome.

Please offer criticism as far as anything you see where the color seems off or the logo looks off center. I need the help of some of you out there with an artistic eye!

These are not the final products. I'm still tweaking them to get the whole set to look uniform and realistic.

edit: Link is at the bottom, but here it is again! http://www.laseron.org

Very nice, Portlander...........

Those are different templates from the one I used to create the caps for the HTB abnd HBL...........

I'd be interested as to where I could get the blanks if you have the time.

I've been looking for suitable templates for the ABA for some time now.

capas

Goody those are really sweet. Now I’m going to have to figure out how to do that.

(Check out the ATHL caps too.)

Thanks Cooley.

I was thinking of writing a walk through on how to do these and make it available with the template already set up so people can just plug in the colors and unique team logo. Provided they have Photoshop or PSP...

Before I do that I was gonna make sure nobody else had already offered a set up like this. (template and instructions in a download)

And find out how much interest there would be...

I'd be using Image Composer, which came with FP2K, so the templates and changing the colors wouldnt work for me, but if I had blanks of each color, I could go from there with IC.

Thanks guys. I actually changed the template a few times and had to go back and redo caps...so they were more uniform. These took forever..because the realistic look of them is tricky. You don't necessarily want the same color on the hat that you have on the team logo..because you're trying to make it look like cloth.

Now that I have the template all knocked out I can concentrate on making the team graphics look more realistic and fixing up the ones I did early on.

*cringe* satchel, that San Francisco logo is nice but they have "Francisco" spelled wrong. Oops.

I am working from a white blank and each cap has 7 different layers of different opacity.

I could send you the blank and you could probably make your own colored templates from it. That's the beauty of the original hat image...it had the shading already there but it is pure white. You can do almost anything with it.

These hats are pretty fun to make now that I have the template.

If anyone wants one, send me an email saying where I can find your team logo. No garantees but if your team has a graphic on the logo that will transfer cleanly...or you want just a simple letter...I should be able to hook you up. I need some more practice.

I did all of the ATHL caps. I made all of the logos at the top of the screen and the league logos that are going on the main page and yes, misspelled Francisco. But its not a big deal because they changed their name to the Rebels. I used caps from the www.lids.com site, and then used the rubber stamp icon to wipe out the existing logo. After that I used variation to tweak in the color.

Oh those hats have been edited? Nice, I couldn't really tell...I thought you just gathered them from around the web from teams already with those names.

After I wiped the old logo I copy the new logo into the photoshop file then filter/spherize to give it the shape of the cap, I then shrink it and drop a shadow to make it look right. It sounds difficult but once you get the hang of it you can bang them out.
