How in the heck do you increase money for your team? I have only $2,000,000.00 to sign players...My total budget is $196,000,000.00 (Yes I am the Redsox)....

Any Help Is Appreciated

Short-term (that is, without monkeying with Team Expenses & Salary Settings which can be a bit problematical), you can choose to assume Commissioner Powers OR you can change the setting in League Setup, Financials, Team Revenue Settings for "Team Owner controls Budget?" to "No." Either option will allow you to spend whatever you want and even go into the red, temporarily.

If that does not work for you, try bumping up the Average Media Contract figures a bit, as well as changing "National Media Contract fixed?" to "Yes, same contract for every team." This will increase revenue for all teams, including yours.

One other thing to do is go to your team's Front Office page and increase your ticket price. You do not have to be in Commissioner Mode to do this. By the way, if you WIN MORE GAMES your fan interest will go up and you'll get more revenue that way.

Only if none of the above works should you go back to League Setup, Financials and experiment with Team Expenses & Salary Settings. Be sure to use the Refresh button under Financial Setup Summary & Projections so that you see a healthy profit as a result or you may bankrupt yourself and everybody else.

Finally, if you want to CHEAT, go into Commissioner Mode in Manager Options, then return to your team's Front Office page. Now you will see a button in the lower right corner, labeled "Edit Finances." Click that, scroll down on the left, and award yourself more cash or a higher budget! CAUTION: You may want to save your game first before tinkering with this.

Just click in the box, the old figure will be highlighted, type a new, higher figure, and hit enter. You don't have to be commissioner for this.

Don't go crazy. Say, bump them up by 10 or 15% and see what that does. It may take a season or so to register.

Look at your player salaries. It's not unusual to have little money for FA.

I have $162M budget and $118M in salaries after trading a player making $2.3M.

This is a good point. Sometimes you can free up salary by getting rid of a high-priced player or two in a trade. Just watch what you are being offered in return after shopping them around - it will usually, but not always, be a player(s) making an equal salary as what you are offering. Sometimes you have to settle for scrubs in order to do a salary dump like this.
