Changing injury settings: question about size of league and changing mid season

I asked this in another thread, but it really didn't have to do with the topic so I'd thought I'd ask it again here.

I'm thinking of changing my injury settings to "high" (MLB realism), but I read a comment elsewhere that mentioned that league size should be taken into account when determining what setting to use. My question is, should the size of the league (mine is 12 teams 3 layers of minors) play into the decision regarding which injury setting to use? In other words, will "high" decimate small leagues, while being perfect (realistic) for larger leagues?

Secondly, is changing the settings in the middle of the season a bad idea? Will there be a rash of injuries as the CPU seeks to meet some predetermined # of injury days?

Thanks.

I would think it would be the opposite - more players + higher frequency = more players getting hurt and decimating the league.

Changing any setting in the middle of a season is generally not a good idea. If you feel like you want to do it now though (or any time at all), I'd suggest copying your league and running tests first to make sure your results are as intended.

Thanks guys.

One last question. Does the game try to reach a certain aggregate number of injury days for the whole league (which then are distributed across the players based on their durability); or is it a day by day calculation (or some other variation) such that the number of aggregate injury days varies year to year?

In other words, does changing the injury setting simply increase the number of aggregate games for the league; or does changing the setting increase the random frequency (taking into account player attributes) at which injuries occur, with no set number of aggregate games missed preset.

If it is the latter, than changing the settings after 40 games played, should be ok. It it is the former, than one will see a rash of injuries take down the league.

Pedagogue time. Having one player in ten injured would lower most injury rates that I've seen.

Decimate refers to the killing of every tenth person, a punishment used in the Roman army for mutinous legions.

Most people get this meaning wrong, so you are not unusual in that regard.
