Rico Verhoeven rating

I havent watched the fight yet but I read he did really well. Not sure if he is that skilled or Usyk had a Tyson Fury moment and didnt train or take the fight seriously. Anyway wondering if anyone has taken a stab at rating Verhoeven?

Usyk is pushing 40 and was giving 25 pounds to Verhoeven. Still, there's no excuse for a guy in his second boxing match to be beating the heavyweight champ going into the penultimate round.

Did you watch it? How did you have it scored if you did? I heard the stoppage was controversial.

I'm sure someone will post it to youtube or Dailymotion soon. Then I'll watch it and score the fight like I do with every match I watch

I had six rounds to Verhoeven, three to Usyk, and one even. As for the stoppage, Verhoeven had been down and was taking a beating but the round was two seconds from ending. I doubt the 12th would have been much better for him.

Just watched the fight today. I had Verhoeven up 7-3 and I agree I think Usyk would have gotten him out of there in the 12th. Definitely not the usual fighting we see from Usyk, but if they rematch I image he fares a lot better (unless he just got old overnight)

Verhoeven did surprise me he did better than i thought and the stoppage was way too soon. he has a strong chin for sure and fought well but I too think Usyk had a Fury brain fart and did not take him seriously enough
