loading schedules in a spreadsheet

Is it possible to load up a schedule in a spreadsheet program? It is a cumbersome thing to edit it via a text editor as you have to move the cursor all over the place. it would be so much nicer to manage if it were alterable via a spreadsheet format.

So does anyone have any info on modifying the file in this way? Any steps to take to change the file format.

FWIW, I use OpenOffice to work with spreadsheets.

I just opened a schedule file in Excel without any issue. Note that the .lsdl extension is not one recognized by Excel, so I had to set the file type to "all files" in order to see it.

Excel parsed the data correctly, and the columns were all labeled. The schedule part, that is, the home and away teams, starting time, and game day, were the final set of columns on the right.

Thanks. Don't have excel but am messing with wordperfect.

What file format did you save it as? If I choose txt, then I have to choose either tab or comma delimited, and neither renders it as the original .lsdl file.

I would think the XML setup of the schedule file should be able to be opened by most current spreadsheet programs (e.g. OpenOffice's).

The format has to match what is already in the schedule files, so no direct saving is possible.

However, it's fairly easy to setup an Excel (or whichever app you're using) a worksheet which will, using simple formulas, convert the basic schedule layout into the format needed by OOTP. Then it's a matter of copying the reformatted data from the worksheet and pasting it into a text file, then saving that file and changing the extension from .txt to .lsdl.
