DirecTV MLB Package

I ordered this when I got home from school last week. It's pretty amazing.

Once I start work, it's gonna be pretty sweet to be able to lay in bed and watch the west coast games after the Sox.

One thing that disappointed me about it was that it doesn't have a 24 hour channel like the NFL package has.

Anyone else have this?

My uncle does. Whenever I visit him, I just watch that all day. It's pretty sweet. I'd recommend it, if you're financially suited...

I'm jealous, I really want the package but since I don't pay for cable I can't get it.

I've got it and love it. Dodger games are great to watch if they are on their FSN, with Vin Scully all by his lonesome.

I'm a cheapo so I use MLB TV. It's definitely quality lacking, but I can watch every A's game.

Someday I'll be rich enough to get the cable or satellite package.

It doesn't get any better than Vin.

I think they use the home team's broadcasters... and I caught a Dodger game with Scully last week.

Anyway... I really liked having just Scully calling the game because it didn't have all the stupid comments that come with a color guy... and he just does a fantastic job all around.

I've also learned that we (in the Boston area) are very, very lucky to have Remy/Orsillo compared to a lot of the other guys I've heard over the past week calling games for other teams.

And by the same token, i've figured out how BAD George Grande and Chris Welsh are on the Reds FSN.

I think that way for most sports, but because of baseball's pace, I have no trouble listening to it.

Ugh. I bought the MLB all access on mlb.com (both MLB TV and radio audio). You can only either watch the game or do the radio audio, but not both. I watch the Brewers, but I'd prefer to watch the game and listen to Bob Uecker. Since I can't do that I usually opt for watching the game. During the weekend series with the Dodgers I couldn't stand Vin Scully anymore by the middle of the 2nd game and switched over to just listening to Uecker for the rest of the series. Sorry, you probably think I'm nuts. I used to think Scully was good, but he nearly put me to sleep.

During day games, I'm at work so then I put Uecker on in the background while I'm working. Now that's great!

Well that's what I love about him. He's got a no-bull**** approach. He's just a PbP guy.

Half the time I hear a color guy talk, the idiocy that flys out of his mouth is so frustrating to me that I want to impale myself on the remote.

I much prefer to listen to games on the radio rather than watch them. Plus besides sports you get lots of other **** for $10 a month.

They offered the first week of the season free as a trial, and it was all I could do to keep from buying it right then. But my life is pretty hectic right now and I probably wouldn't be able to watch enough games to justify the cost. However, I'm probably going to plunk down the cash once they offer the late-season discounted cost.

I would never leave the house if I got that package. Hell, I don't leave the house on Sundays when my NFL Sunday Ticket kicks in.

I'll stick to the free weeklong previews, the one at the beginning of the season, and the one right after the All-Star break. Those previews certainly pique my interest, but after sitting home all week watching baseball, I realize why I don't get it.
