Just got OOTP and I'm running into several problems

Problem #1 - I just DL'ed the latest version from the ootp website and installed it. However, the drop down meanus, like "File, League, Teams, and Display, are clear, and extremely difficult to read. It' seems as if the drop bown menu's need some sort of base color so one can read them. I just re-licensed the game on a new cpu, I never had this problem on my old cpu so this is strange to me.

#2 - The font for the pbp overlaps it's pbp box and prints words ontop of words, it doesn't seem to clear the pbp, after the play is over.

#3 - The stadiums pic's won't show up - I've put them in the right folder, I believe, "Graphics" as I did in my other cpu's 00tp6 game. The names of the stadiums come up - but not the pic's of the stadium.

I find all of these very strange b/c I never had a problem wwith ootp6 on my old cpu. I now have a top of the line cpu and it doesn't seem to be working.

I am using DJ-Rosters and ballpark pics from found on http://newrepublic.silvergriffin.com/ootptools.html

Any help at all would be greatly appriciated,

Sorry you're having problems - I believe there is an easy fix to number one and two but I can't remember excalty what it is, try toggling 3D configuration on and off.

For number three, do the pictures have a .jpeg or a .bmp ending?

The have to be .bmp format, which they probably are if you got them from another site. Only other things I can think of are the images assigned to the ballparks in the edit ballpark menu. And do you have the ballparks assigned to each team in the team setup. Youll know everything is right if you see the image in there. Other than that it sounds like you have the images in the right spot, just double check the rest and it should work.

Your problem not being able to read menus, there is a setting for that, if you search the forums you should find something on that in this forum and I know there is one recently on this and how to fix. Im not sure myself so I cant tell you how.

Ok guys thanks, I got all three of the problems corrected thanks to you two.

I run into 1 slight problem now...for ratings I want to see their talent

I have ability, talent, and other all sent to 1-5 and star rating on yet, I don't see any star rating nor do I get any ratings when I go to "player ratings" can any of you help me out on this?

do you have coaches enabled? if so it means that team your looking at does not have a scouting director signed.

Thanks once again, for replying, I have tried to use a coaches patch "Rd 2004 Coaches off of Joe Rocks' page, but they don't show up. I unzipped it in my league file and had it overwrite the origional fiel in there but so far no luck on gettign the coachs and scouts assigned to their proper team...

I havent played with the coaches in a long time as I think they are more trouble than they are worth. I dont understand what you are saying really, the coaches you imported dont appear in the coaches list? I do remember one fairly annoying aspect of coaches was that if I was in the signing peroid I couldnt make any new ones. So If I had a bunch retire the previous season I would be short or have alot of crappy ones to choose from. Since I never imported coaches I cant help you with this part, maybe someone else knows.
