Talking Corporate League needs geeks & nerds

Well this add is going to be even worse then the one you won't see because I am a lame-ass and closed the wrong tab

Anyway, Corporate League Baseball need some leadership for Playboy & Coors. & to be honest a couple of other teams will probably open up

We are a fictoral league starting in 1980, we are currently finishing the 1982 season.

League good points;

very relaxed league, no real requirements. most of us are olderish farts with busy lives, so all we really ask is keep in some from of contact.

sim every even day, 7 days per sim

A real & a fictional player draft

Cato

A "colorfull" commish

plus a few other members only extras

bad point

very relaxed league, no real requirements.

hey, ya can't please them all

and if after reading what might be the all-time worst add in ootp history you are stil interested.

or if U R 4 the MALL

please post in our forum

jazz

edit: heck even if you arn't 4 the mall you could still call your team the Greenpeace Treehuggers or something and crush us greedy corporate bastards.

CLB is a good league. Very well run by the commish, Jazz. I highly recommend this.

What teams are available?

Also, I see sims are on even days. When are exports due? Same time each sim or will it vary from sim to sim.

Thank You.

Coors was just taken and that leaves playboy open. We will have a couple of teams open up after the championship series is over in a couple of days.

exports are due by 9pm eastern on the day of the sim. Most of the time I get the sims done before 11 eastern. On occasion I have to change the sim time but i always give as much notice as possible when that happens.

It was a season of change, a season of heartbreak, a season of turmoil. But in the end it was a battle of the will to win.

Ford started the season strong and if memory serves had a pretty nice lead over Coke & disney. At some point in mid-season the manager disappeared. The players did the best they could to direct the team but evey ship needs a captian and the Explosion slipped out of first place by seasons end.

But lady luck was on the side of Ford this year. All other playoff contenders played like they were afraid to to lose, and then did just that. & Ford slipped into the playoffs as the wildcard.

The Governing board decided they couldn't allow Ford to compete in the playoffs without an on field manager so a knight in a Marauder uniform showed up to keep the manager seat warm. He played a steady hand, didn't make a bunch of changes, just held the rudder steady through the rough waters that are the CLB playoffs to Fords first Corporate League Baseball Championship and neverending glory.

I'm a former member of this league.

I have to say it's VERY, VERY fun and well-run.

You'll have a good time. And if you don't, something's wrong with you.

As an active member of the league, I have to say it sucks. That is it sucks if it was bizarro world and sucks meant awesome.

(If you are confused just join the league and nothing will be revealed)

To be totally serious, the CLB is a great league that has a great GMs who can't beat a team that went on auto-pilot.

Great fun and good commish (Do not want to say great commish and give Jazz a big head) Here are the breakdowns of the teams and team links.

Walmart - Even though they lost 103 games last year, they are a young team with the 3rd best farm system in the league. You can build around Jim Rice ( .325-27-115 )

SBC - 86-84 record in a tough division. Great outfield core with Oscar Gamble ( .303-35-105 ), Johnny Grubb ( .307-18-79 ), Gary Mathhews ( .299-19-87 ) and Dan ford ( .318-24-105 ). With Steve Garvey ( .290-22-99 ) at first and Alan Ashby ( .295-18-67 ) at catcher you need not worry about hitters on this team. Farm system is middle of the road and pitching a little weak.

Goldman Sachs - 89-81 record. Opposite of SBC. Has very solid pitching staff but need some help with the bat. Moose Haas, Ron Davis, Frank Tanana and Rick Sutcliffe head up a nice staff and Andre Dawson ( .301-34-117 ) is someone to build the line-up around. Farm System is middle of the road also.

Starbucks - 76-94 record. Very weak hitting team with decent pitching. Does have the 4th best Farm System, so there is help for them in the minors.

Shell - 90-80 record. Playoff team with 5th best Farm system, so doesn't need much help to put them over the top. Very nice pitching staff, 3.90 ERA was second in the league.

So here is a chance to get into a league and you have your choice of trying to build a team or taking a team all ready to contend.

nah , am just good. A great commish would have done the links and breakdowns himself..

THANKS OKC!!!!

I am here to announce this years CEO award.

in a close battle of profit & wins, for his second CLB CEO award, by the sliver of a margin of .033 owner points

Disposablehero, the Coca Cola Buzz GM gets to lord his greatness over our heads for the 1983 season.

would somebody please join this league and take him down? I failed in my bid this year.

I am soooo pissed..... I had the whole thing set up perfect. I had almost no salary right untill the trade deadline, then added the 2 huge contracts & got the 2 players to help me get to the championship series.

all i had to do was go deep in the series, 2 more games of income & i would have had enough profit to win the CEO award. Hell I was damn close to pulling off the damn near impossible CLB double.

Here we go on the OOTP boards. Dispo and Jazz brag on the CLB boards and now have expanded to here. Of course neither has won a championship, but who cares...right? I just sit back and keep watching what developes.
