Generating Quality Players

An oddity it is when I've gone and done something like over customize. I can't recall the last time this has happened, but OOTP6 is good enough to continue delivering these sorts of good surprises. This is a simple question:

I'm making a 24 team league of local cities, and I'm hand editing many of the rosters to include names and players I've previously envisioned. Probably is, in my imagination some of the lower tier teams don't really have many names or faces to them, and so I'm left having no idea who to make. When I fill the minor leagues, its filled with mostly 1-star walk on caliber players, and for some of the major league rosters that I'm looking to fill, I'm looking for low quality, yes, but a star here and there, and in general just a little more variation. What's the easiest way to go about this for some teams?

I would create a new league and just allow it to create a normal set of fictional players. Then I would simply import some of those players individually to my league. I believe one of the importers works for this, if not just create a dummy team in your league. Put the players you want from the other league onto a single roster, import the team and then delete the team releasing all the players into FA pool or keep them on the roster and use the team editor utility found at ootp downloads. This should give you enough players to import into your league. I have never tried this but I have used the team importer for expansion and it works well.

You can modify the player creation settings in the league setup. I am not 100% sure that it affects creation of players in the transaction screen. I think its pretty much a crap shoot, luck of the draw so you may have to make more players than you actually need to get the talent level you want then just delete the players you dont want.

It always has for me (I generally use Skydog's creation modifiers).

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

No, because it wasn't designed to be a Skydog-type league. On the other hand, my fictional 1976 MLB league does use them, because it was designed to be a league of that type (see the readme.txt file).
