New league - Have a few questions

Hi,

I have been working on my site for the past few days and now I am ready to get the league underway. I have a few questions or maybe I am asking for an opinion.

1. I am running a 12 team fictional league. How many games should I play? Or should I just stick with 162? Seems a bit long, but looking on a responses on the length.

Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Probably all of them, or else you won't ever make it to the playoffs.

Seriously, 154 games would allow a team to play each of the other teams 11 times, or each division rival 20 times and the six teams in the other division 9 times each. 162 games is an obvious number, if you don't mind an unbalanced schedule.

6 x 12 = 72
5 x 18 = 90

I blame fatigue for not mentioning this schedule in my earlier post. It's not unbalanced (in that you play division rivals the same number of games), and allows for the majority of games in-division. Plus, all the series can be three games.

I always do 162 games, even when it isn't balanced. I like to be able to get modern day totals for players.

Yeah that is what I have gone with schedule wise.

Also, is there a face pack out there for fictional players?

e.g. say your p1.html - and a face pack has random face with p1 name? would go with that player page?

^^ if you can understand that, not a good typer.

Thanks again

I couldn't quite decipher the question, but I can tell you that there are several fictional facepacks around. Check in the mods forum and look at some links like baseballsimcentral. I have about 4500 "fictional" faces on my computer from various sources. You should also probably download a program like Irfanview, which can help you renumber them more easily.

Also, I was wondering there is a .html page that is generated showing the teams 40 man roster?

Thanks again,
