Catobase question about History

i just finished my 7th season which was the 1996 season, this is my first time to use catobase.

I got it to work and everything looks fine, just wondering if in the managers and teams section if their is a way to get it to read the stats and files from the previous 6 season.

All the team and manager sections just show the 1996 season or the season just finished.

I did click the box to have it output all season's

any help would be much appreciated

If you saved a backup of each season you can restore these one at a time and do the import in catobase. Or if you have exported the seasons using commishjoes exporter you can place these files into the data folder for each season and import into catobase. If you have neither than you cannot get the stats into catobase easily....sorry....

i dont have the back ups, i save extra zip files during the season but once i dont need them anymore i delete them

you say it cant be done easily, does that mean there is a way to do it?

YOu can recreate the information from the almanac within the game and enter the data into the format of the exporter files required to import into CATOBASE. I did this for one season and it took about a week. Not for the weary, a lot of repetitive typing.

one more question!!

if i run fake seasons for 1990 thru 1995 and then go in and only manually change the team stats..

when i import 1996 or 1997 again, will it overwrite the players stats with the correct stats?

cause when i run the fake seasons the players stats are gonna be incorrect

It will only overwrite the correct stats for 1996, 1997 and not for the previous years. You actually need the correct CSV files exported to update the database. Sorry. No matter how you do this it is going to take a lot of work...
You could do the fake stats, but then use them as a template to type in the correct data and then import them. The time consuming part is the batting and pitching lines which are entered into the csv template by GAME.....

Again there may be another way of doing this, but I have not found any way.
