Two Logo Requests for the Phoenix League

Hi, guys.

There'll be two more requests after this one, but I figured I'd put in the first two.

The Phoenix League is a continuation of the Octopus League after Nigel Benvuneto, the original founder, died.

Four new teams are entering the fold and two have been confirmed.

Hartford Octopuses
Owned by a group of citizens that want to keep Nigel Benvuneto's legacy alive, the team's obviously named for the old Octopus League. Hartford is where Benvuneto Shipping, Nigel's company, is headquartered. It was also where the Octopus League offices were, and where the Phoenix League offices are now. Colourwise, I'm thinking possibly purple and white, though feel free to play around with different colour schemes as you like. I know I want an octopus as the centre part of the logo.

Redmond Super Marios
As you can probably tell from the name, they're owned by Nintendo of America. Ideally I'd like to have Mario as the centre piece of the logo. Colours are up to the designer, though I'm thinking the Nintendo red should be included, and hopefully the lettering as well. I remember those of you who did the Racine Secrets and the Seattle Coffeemen logos for the Octopus Leagues did a beautiful job of incorporating the corporate owners' trademarks into it.

Really nice logo, illeracula, but I do have a lettering-related request.

Is it possible to have the lettering be like the official Nintendo company logo-style lettering?

If not, that's cool. I'd just like to see what it would look like with that.

I love the centre graphic, though. It absolutely rocks.

That shoudln't be a problem. Might not be able to get to it till Wed, unfortunatley. I will see what I can do.

Here is a Hartford one I threw together, let me know what you think or if you want some changes...
(now that its uploaded it doesn't look at clean as it did locally...hmmm)

I'm pretty sure the plural of octopus is octopii.
