Online League play question
Hi everyone, a new (and happy) owner of ootp6 (with the 6.12 patch installed). I've just had the product for about a week, but it brings back memories of all of the little cards with player's names and information charts spread across the dining room table so many years ago...
But to my question. I've been reading through the online league information section of the forum about what league is available here or there and they refer to "sim times". If I understand the concept correctly, a league file is d/l into the game program, and the GMs make adjustmens to players, strategies, etc. on their team and have to export the file back to the league host. Is this the "sim time" I keep seeing? I am interested in joining an online league, but I predominantly work night shifts, and if these "sim times" mean I have to be online then, I wouldn't be able to commit to that. Also, I tried to search through the forums, but I couldn't find any general information about how online leagues work. I'm sure it's there, just was curious as to where. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Phil |

"Sim time" is generally referring to the time when the commissioner simulates the games.

As steve said "sim time" is just the time the commish runs the sim, your export is due sometime before that.
some leagues have live sims in chat rooms, but not very many have attendence as a requirment. I would suggest you start in a simple on-line league where the rules are very basic (mine would be a decent example) to get your feet wet.
