another question

my ace starting pitcher has a 2.83 era, and about 130 strikeouts over 136 innings of work. Also an an 11-5 record. But he's not listed in the league leader boards. They have the best era pitcher at 3 and some change. Why is my guy not in the leader boards and not even invited to all star game when he leads the majors in era and strikeouts????

Rate stats require a pitcher to have at least one inning pitched per team game, so has the pitcher's team played less than 136 innings? If he hadn't played that much, maybe he would not make the All-Star Game either.

If it not an issue of too little playing time or IP, I don't know. You're looking at league leaders and not the career leaderboard, and you are looking at combined totals or for the appropriate league, right? Really grasping at straws on those things because I do not recall ever having this problem.

I have a pitcher in my solo league that has the lowest ERA in the league, but probably won't qualify for the ERA title because he'll fall a few innings short. He's 2.31 ERA through a 110 innings, but I have about 30 games left. The only way he qualifies is if I use him in relief in between starts, and I have a feeling that it won't work the way I want. Plus I'm up 4 games in the division, so I don't want to blow that because of an ERA title that won't help him win the CY.

Go for it! It's just 6 for 6 in complete games, or only like 8 innings per if you go to a 4-man staff. He will reward your commitment to his success with an awesome playoff run!
