A new fictional online league is hard at work preparing for it's first sim.
I will spare posting all the league info and clogging up space.

I have always been very impressed with TWB.
This is my attempt to create a fictional league and make the OOTP community apart of it.
This thread will contain some league news and be a place for me (and hopefully my 12 excellent GMs) to post news and stories and thoughts on the league.
My hope is that the wonderul OOTP community will become a part of our league and work to create a rich baseball history.
In the coming weeks and months I hope you all will enjoy reading and following what I feel will become one of the best online leagues for OOTP 6.

The best place for news and to follow our league besides this thread is our website and more importantly our forum.
I warmly welcome you all to join our forum and hopefully interact with our league.
You are free to post as much as you want on whatever you want as it pertains to the league.

Ring of Fire League

Admiralty Islands
Excellent offense. Good bunch of hitters who will get on base alot. 350 stolen bases will not be a problem for these guys. Pitching is good and bullpen is just good enough to eat some innings.
100 wins is not out of the question for these guys.

Brunei
Very balenced team. Good hitting bunch who makes excellent contact and have three good power hitters. Not alot of team speed but a few guys who can steal bases. Pitching is competent enough to keep them in games but their offense will need no slumps.
90 wins should be the expected success rate.

Kuala Lumpur
Excellent hitting will carry this team. No speed at all so they will need power to carry them. Defense is also a weakness which makes their average pitching that much worse. If a few guys play above themselves then this team could make the playoffs.
I predict 85 wins.

Manado
Does not have the offense nessacary to win. Nor the defense. Pitching is the best in the ROF league and will dominate some games but ultimatly will not get enough runs in order to win. If the pitching plays better than their already spectacular potential they could have a very longshot of making the playoffs.
.500 record give or take a few games.

Timor
Offense has no heartbeat. Simply will not put up the runs to win. Pitching is very good and a strong defense only makes them that much better. But will not get the run support needed to win. If pitching plays above themselves and offense has a few carrer years could have an outside shot at the playoffs.
75 wins is obtainable

Wewak
Team has no chance. Power hitting in their only strength. Can't hit for contact worth a damn and will not get in base above 35%. Pitching is hopeless and will not prevent runs which the offense has no hope of putting out.
First pick of the draft is a given.
55 wins will be considered a moral victory.

Fair Winds League
This league is almost a toss up

Tuvalu
How can a team that scores no runs win? By allowing no runs. This teams pitching is simply stellar game in and game out. Sub 3.00 team ERA is possible.
Offense is totaly hopeless and a waste of time even being on the field.
85 wins or maybe a few more is possible.

Samoa
Will not hit for contact but can mash the ball like no one else. Will score the needed runs simply because they can power their way to victory. Slow as molases up and down the lineup.
Pitching is a little below average with a bad bullpen.
Playoff chances depend on how bad other teams are instead of how good this team is.
80-85 wins are possible.

Tonga
Average offensivly. Get on base alot and can hit. Has speed as well and will probably be 2nd or 3rd in SB. No power at all. 60 HR all season long would be a good season. Pitching is good but past their ace falls off. Bullpen past its ace gets worse too.
Good team but does not have the firepower to compete.
75-80 wins

Vanuatu
Good hitting will put up the runs. Only happered by lack of any speed and not alot of power. Good fielding will compensate for a pitching staff that is among the worst in the leaugue. If pitching is a little better then could sneak into the playoffs.
75 wins is about where this team will be at.

Fiji
Pretty good hitting. Best power and speed combo in the leauge.
Defense is probably the best in the league.
Unfortuantly the defense will have to run its ass off for a pitching staff that could be one of the worst in many many years. Ace is good but past that you have minor league scrubs.
65-70 wins

Noumea
This team can strike guys out. But that is it...
Offense is subpar and other aspects of pitching are lacking. Defense is pretty bad in most areas. Also pretty bad in the stolen base department.
If this team was in the ROF they would be near 100 losses.
Here they could eek out 65 wins

Playoffs:

Admiralty Islands vs. Brunei
Admiralty Islands will win 4 games to 3 in a very exciting series.

Tuvalu vs. Samoa
Tuvalu will hold Samoa to little offense and take the series 4 games to 1

Oceania Cup
Admiralty Islands vs. Tuvalu
Tuvalu will win some games on pitching alone but the Admiralties will be too much for them and take the series 5 games to 3

The Admiralty Islands will be crowned the first champion of the SSBL
