jope's 2005 roster set
I'd like to start some kind of advertising for my new roster set...
originally I did it only for my own playing experience cause I found all the available sets somehow insufficient, but since it took me two weeks of full work, I finally decided to release it (downloadable at http://www.ootpdownloadcenter.com/). It includes... - the 40-man-rosters with all trades, injuries etc. up to 3/30/05 (+ Charles Johnson in TB ), tweaked ratings, extensively tested for realistic results- virtually ALL minor league regulars above Rookie-level in 2004 (at least 130 players/organization) - all organizational Top-30-prospects (according to Baseball America) with tweaked ratings (reworked with the new TOP-100-prospect list) - TONS of former MLs now playing in Japan, Mexico or elsewhere and formally retired players in the FA pool - some 130 college/HS prospects in the 2005-draft-pool not included though... - ratings for second-string-minor leaguers (correct are only name, date of birth, origin, height/weight and handedness), although nobody is rated above the organizational top-30-list - all minor league transactions of the off season, means some of the minor leaguers may not be with their correct organization... - 2005 schedule (you have to include it by yourself) Nevertheless it should be great fun (if you like BIIIGGG FA-lists of course ). Anyway, I'd be interested in some feedback...

Suppose I'm just curious what you found insufficient about the other sets. And whose work did you use as a base? They should be credited in your readme.

Awesome job on the number of players in this set. Easily the most comprehensive list of prospects that I've ever seen in a roster set. I also love the addition of prep/college players for the 2005 draft - I've been following a bunch of these guys, but getting to use them before the ML teams do is just a great touch.
![]() Talent ratings on a lot of players seem a bit high, and for some of the players it looks like there's some definite inaccuracies, but I love a really deep set, and this goes way beyond what I could hope for. |

What I found insufficient? 1) deepness of the sets, especially on minor league level (here deepness is more important to me than accuracy, given the amount of changes - in ratings, trades etc - the game makes) - and to assure both is almost impossible, this would be full-time work ![]() 2) the ratings on major league level, leading to sometimes funny results in simulating - my one is far from perfect though, since I haven't done it systematically like you GForce have done it for example in the TotalMinors that I used to play on MVP 04. |
