Release Player Bug?

In my league an owner wanted to release a player that has two years left on a deal that pays the player 15.75Mil ($31.5Mil total). When I go to release that player, it tells me the final player expenses will cost $4.9Mil. What's going on there?

Hey, I didn't sign the extension - nor trade for him with that contract

But I'm using 6.12

what part of the season are you in.

as go deep into the season the contract is not the full amount you owe if you release. its prorated as you play during the season.

In Free Agency, he is due the total of $31.5Million.

I'm confused??? Does he have years left on his contract or not?
Does that mean he's asking for 31.5 million extension or has 2 years left at 31.5 million?

If he's asking for an extension and the owner is just releasing him then the 4.9 million is just the prorated protion of his contract left for that season.

If he really does have 2 years left, then I think he should be paying alot more in expenses but I've never tried that myself so I'm not sure.

Okay maybe I'm not explaining myself well enough.

We are currently in Free Agency. February 1st, 2008. His contract is $15.75Mil through 2009, which is a total of $31.5Mil.

When I go to release the player from his team, it only says he owes $4.9Mil in player expenses, when he SHOULD owe $31.5Mil because that's the total amount he has left.

show us the screenshot that shows he owes 4.9 mil in player expense when you try to release him.

Email Markus and explain what happen and send him the screenshots.

i pretty sure he will do a quick fix patch.

Crazy. Has anyone else checked their 6.12 league? It seems highly unlikely that IATG would be the first to discover this after the patch has been out for so long. Or is this only happening to him apparently?

I'm not in any v6 leagues or I would try to check myself.

You could always add the rest of the expenses manually as a quick fix, but I could see this becoming a problem if it's a widespread thing.

Well it seems like it may have something to do with the release during the Free Agency period causing the buggy-salary, but I wouldn't know why. I don't think I've tried to release a large salary during that period on THIS patch, but I know I didn't have any problems previously. May just be an isolated bug, I'd go around and just drag some other big name, high salary guys into the release box and see what it says - and of course click no after you get the popup.

my commish in my online league has setup the league so owners can release players themself in the game.

but said you can't release players during free agents in the game. Nothing will happen when you export your file to your commish.

when you download the new league file, the player you release will still be on your roster.

this only happens during free agent period in the offseason.

if you setup league where commish only can release players in the game,then wait until the free agent period is over and see if you still get the same amount to expense you posted above when you release that player.
