Pitch by Pitch for OOTP 7?

Has anyone heard if there will be pitch by pitch mode for OOTP 7?

Will this be the only option? Or will you be able to alter the play speed by doing it like how OOTP 6 has it as well?

A monumental task. I hope Markus can pull it off with SI help.

Indeed. But if it's done right (which - in my mind - it has yet to be in any baseball video game as of yet), then that would be a huge milestone to pair with all of the other impressive features being added.

And yes, I believe there will be an option to turn it off.

DMB does it pretty well and it really adds to the game play. I just hope SI and Markus can pull it off.

I would like to see pitching ratings be based on single pitches instead of the entire arsenal.
i.e.
Fastball:
Stuff - 8
Control - 6
Movement - 8

Curveball:
Stuff - 5
Control - 7
Movement - 6

I like your suggestion FJ. I like it a lot. Has it been posted in the Features, Suggestions forum?

Well, I guess I saw a post before stating that the threads there were read by the "important" guys. I guess, it came from Steve, but I'm not sure really.

I guess not, it will ruin her beauty.

I probably don't qualify as someone "important," but I can safely assure you that it does get read by those who are. Probably laughed at every now and then, but definitely read

IMO this would be over kill. Say a pitcher has 4 pitches, you then would have to evaluate 12 different ratings to determine if the guy was any good.

If you have to have pitch-type ratings, do it like BBPro and just have an overall rating for each pitch.

Or at the least, have the option to switch pitcher ratings from "individual" pitches to "overall" pitches ratings.

I'd loved PbP, since that would add so much more to the offensive/defensive running game.

Well, if I was making the game.

I would use my idea. And then I would assign % to every pitch to base how many times that pitch is thrown.
All of these pitches would then form into an overall rating with each pitch weighted.
So if a fastball is thrown 75% of the time, then the fastball rating would make up 75% of the overall rating.
The overall rating would be a good way to quickly glance over the pitcher and evaluate him at a glance.

EDIT: I would also have * ratings for all pitches as well to quickly be able to study pitchers.
And as long as I am writing stuff down...
I would also like hitters to have a rating based on how good they are at hitting a particular pitch.
I would make it a 1-10 rating
i.e.
Fastball - 10
Two Finger Fastball - 9
Curve - 3
Splitter - 5

All very good ideas FJ.

One item that I've pushed since v.4 is a catcher-pitcher chemistry rating.

Goroyals, we had a big debate about C ratings around the time 6 came out - do a search for it and you'll find it. Unless you're discussing the specific ability of a C to work with a specific C- a Maddux- Eddie Perez kinda thing. Even then, there seems to be little evidence to suggest its vital.

Also, the 2 things that should be in 7 (heck, they should be in 6, given the DIPS engine) is tracking BAPIP for a pitcher, as well as HR allowed. Those 2 are fairly unforgivable misses.

Also - pet peeve. Please, please have the AI evaluate Park Factors when handing out awards- or let me select them.

HRA is now being tracked for major league pitchers...since either 6.10 or 6.11.
