Development Modifiers
what are the best numebrs to set for your prospect and player development and aging modifiers if you want them to work like the real life MLB?
(its a current league with current players and I'd like things to work like the MLB) alot of the players seem to flop or take untill 26 to get some decent ratings... I also have veterans ratings dropping too fast and drastically..any ideas on that? thanks for any help. |

Those settings will work very, very well for current aging/development. A note of warning, though..... don't use those league totals in your current league. They are set up to give realistic 'Modern Era' stats, and you end up with numbers more akin to the 80's than the oughts. |

Also keep in mind that if you have more than the default 0 rounds in the draft, that can also skew your results.

Have these actually been tested with the real MLB rosters? I read over the thread, but I didn't see anything about them actually being tested with the real rosters.
I was reading over the thread specified above, and I was trying to figure out whether adding these development modifers with one of the new opening day rosters would enhance gameplay at all. Hopefully someone has some input

I have used the development and aging modifiers with real rosters with excellent results. As I said, though, you don't want to use those league totals unless you are running an '80's league.

The thing I was looking at with SkyDog's development modifers and real MLB rosters was the financial aspect of it. People were saying in that thread how salaries were much higher than the norm. In a real MLB league, what would happen would be generated players have higher talent ratings, and when they develop and get better, they'll be 30% better than the current players, creating higher contract demands, and thus creating higher payrolls which would most likely create a large problem, considering teams wouldn't have enough mula to keep up with the contract demand inflation.
Has anyone looked into this at all? |
