crash at end of season

Season is finished, I click on Proceed to Next Season, I get Generating League Reports, then Generating Team Reports, and halfway through the latter the game crashes. New game with 6.12 patch, first season. Any advice appreciated.

RAM, free HD space, OS, programs running at the same time........

New machine (like a week old), coupla gig ram, 140 gig or so free hard disc space, Win XP Media Center 2005 ... let me try shutting down other programs, can't recall what I was running, if anything. Thanks!

ETA: shut stuff down, same problem. Checked the error message that would have been sent to Microsoft, but don't know enough to make sense of it ... it was mostly a big hex dump, it looked like.

My apologies for my too-brief initial posts ... haven't had any problems with OOTP for a long time, I've forgotten my manners!

Crash could also be caused by add-ons loaded in game - I just posted because I cant use an add-on to generate league history in MLB. It worked fine in V6.10 but not 6.11 or 6.12. I think it was originally made for OOTP5 and updated for OOTP6. So maybe something else changed in this update too.

No add-ons ... I have a homebrew roster set I downloaded, but I'm not using it in this particular game, I created a new career series with fictional players.

Tried playing again after a couple of days, and it worked fine. I have no idea why it didn't work before, or why it works now ... just glad it does!
