Fictional Version of John Smoltz, 6.12 style

Started a test career a few moments after the release of 6.12. Just looked at it, and saw this fun career track:

Any way to find out the movement rating of this pitcher during his stretch?

Those HR numbers should be among the best in the league (no one should be under 5 HR consistantly anymore), but was this pitcher's movement rating one of the best?

This guy is, by FAR, the best pitcher in the fictional league's 50+ year history. He's fourth overall in wins (yeah, despite spending 11 seasons in the bullpen), first by a long shot in ERA, 2nd in strikeouts, and 10th in saves.

Good. I'm curious to see how HR given up is affected by the patch, and if this pitcher was one of the highest rated in movement and also consistently one of the best HR/9 pitchers, that would imply the upper end of movement is fixed

In 2031, (the 18-0 year), here are his ratings:

Pitching Ratings
<table class="s0"> <tbody><tr class="g"><td class="s1">Pitching</td><td>Stuff</td><td>Control</td><td>Movement</td><td>Velocity</td></tr> <tr class="g2"><td class="s1_2">Overall</td><td>117</td><td>96</td><td>90</td><td>93-96 Mph</td></tr> <tr class="g"><td class="s1">Versus LHB</td><td>126</td><td>111</td><td>100</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="g2"><td class="s1_2">Versus RHB</td><td>115</td><td>92</td><td>87</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="g"><td class="s1">Talent</td><td>124</td><td>138</td><td>100</td><td>
</td></tr></tbody> </table>

Now, I just stopped the sim to check the league, and right now (2061), there are only three pitchers with Stuff >100, and the highest is 103. Only one, at 101, is above 100 in control, and 97 is the league's highest movement rating. Sounds like this guy might have been once-a-century kind of player.

Ben, did his duration drop such that he was put into the pen ? I would be shocked if the OOTP AI threw a guy into the pen for any other reason - it clearly wasnt a talent issue.

I'm guessing that he always had pretty low duration.

Exactly what I was thinking, and then he was put back to starter for a few years before once again moving back to closer.

287 wins and 387 saves. That is two very good careers

Notice the 2034 season. He went down with bone chips in his shoulder, which is why we only started 10 games. His endurance dropped from 55 to 44. However, a few years later:

It only went up to 48, but that was just enough for a move back into the rotation, apparently.

Actually, it has done this rather well since the days right around the OOTP6 release. Either in my preview thread over at FOFC, or the "Alright boyz" post-release thread, I posted some HTML output from a long-term sim, and it was noticed that several pitchers were getting like 70 starts a year, but only throwing 1-3 innnigs per start. We figured out that after low-endurance starters would suffer an endurance drops for one reason or another, they'd remain in the rotation. It was reported to Markus and fixed pretty quickly, and ever since, pitchers have moved from the rotation to the bullpen and vice versa when their endurance rises or drops above a certain threshold.

Sure. If the rotation is set to "start highest rested starter," and your #1 guy had endurance of 40-45, he'd only throw 1-3 innings in a start. Then, just like a relief pitcher, he'd be fully rested after 1-2 days' rest. Just out of curiosity, I'm looking over at FOFC to find out exactly when this was reported and fixed. I'm thinking that it was last April or May.
