Ping: Commissioners - Offering preseason extensions
Is it pretty widely accepted across leagues that you don't offer contract extensions in the preseason? A lot of people ask for minor league contracts which is completely unrealistic and I know a lot of leagues don't allow extensions until sometime into the season.

Preseason is fine with me (after all Tim Hudson just signed a new four year deal and Spring Training is hardly under way) but I don't allow them in the first few months of the season because the AI doesn't always understand what a slump is.

But really, the only contract someone will accept in the preseason is a minor league deal, no? And nobody accepts a minor league extension when they haven't even played the current season under contract.
I just have an owner in one of my leagues offering a ton of MLC's during offseason free agency. The BBSC Current League has a rule where no contracts can be offered before May 1. I'm considering enacting that here.

Born To Play doesn't allow contract extensions between the start of the season and May 15th, if you were wondering. |
